So the PSN Easter sale is amongst us now, and I see lots of nice games around, yet how they play and whether they are entertaining, I do not know. So I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations about any of the games. Personally myself I’d highly recommend TxK for just three pounds as it’s a super super shooter on the Vita.
I’m not sure what to buy yet, I mainly plan to shop for Vita games. Injustice and Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate look good, but I’m going to take a further look at gameplay videos and stuff. I only have so much to spend, and so much memory space. In fact I’d have to wipe out all the dormant plus content to make room on my Vita.09/04/14 at 14:42 #216690freezebug2Participant
There’s some good PS3 stuff on the sale, Sniper Elite V2 if you haven’t already played it £6.56. WRC 4 looks tempting @ £10.79.
On the Vita I notice there’s Moto GP 13 compact (basic?) for £3.99 (plus price) but the full version of the game is free on plus….wtf lol? Virtua Tennis 4 might be worth a punt for £3.19.09/04/14 at 15:27 #216697
That slimmed Moto GP game is rather odd. Nice idea for people just wanting to mess around with the game I guess.
You are absolutely right, Sniper Elite V2 is discounted. It didn’t show up on the Blog list (also some new things have just been added to that list). I’ll probably get that, as I’ve had my eye on it for some time. Thanks for that good spot.
I’ve been looking through some of the games, and Castlestorm Vita looks rather tempting. I would go for WRC 4 except I haven’t finished with WRC 3 at the moment, and I don’t think the online quite has the kick of something like Dirt. One of the new games added to the blog list all star battle royale for 7.99 with the vita version as a cross buy freebie, so that’s very tempting as well. GT6 isn’t at a good discount price compared to retail, but then Killzone Mercs is a steal at 13.49 on PS+. I highly recommend that game to anyone. It’s just under 4GB with patch data though. In fact Bot mode should be coming soon.

For anyone with a Vita and without Killzone, I couldn’t recommend it enough, £14.99 for that is money well spent! I’m treating myself to Fez for Easter and maybe another cheap Vita indie game for £3. Would anyone recommend Stealth Bastard? Also, what’s TxK like?09/04/14 at 21:22 #216732
Not sure what to say about TxK. It’s a ton a fun if you like arcade shooters, and progress is saved so you can always reach level 99. It’s value next to other games is questionable. For £3 it’s brilliant. But then Stealth Bastard and a few other indie games are slightly more… substantive in content and gameplay for the money. I found Stealth Bastard to be an entertaining puzzler, got it from PS+ IGC last year.10/04/14 at 08:04 #216764ron_mcphattyParticipant
Thanks mate, I’m tempted by Stealth Bastard as I loved the PC demo, might buy it and save it for later as I have Rayman Origins unplayed too and I don’t want to just play lots of 2d platformers10/04/14 at 09:16 #216769
@Avenger – I bought CastleStorm complete edition, there should be a demo available if you wanted to try it first. I really enjoyed it. nice graphics and a nice take on a tower-defence style game. I also highly recommend Sniper Elite V2, one of the games I enjoyed the most on PS3. Just don’t do gung-ho on the higher difficulties or you won’t enjoy it…once you settle in to the slow pace it’s a very decent game.
I also bought Eufloria HD since it looks pretty and was £2.55 with PS+
Both games I bought were also cross-buy which was a nice surprise!10/04/14 at 20:29 #216867
I looked at a lot of gameplay for Castlestorm and it looks like it is my kind of game so I might grab it.
I’ve always had my eye on Sniper Elite V2, however in this case PSN has been undercut by Steam by £1, and I could do with another PC game as getting on the PS3 is tricky with housemates around. It’s downloading now. I tried the demo and it ran well, and I enjoyed the mechanics. I know what you mean about the difficulty. I might do the hardest difficulty (Sniper Elite I think), accept the challenge and take it nice and slow.11/04/14 at 10:28 #216910
The PC community will also probably be more active for V2 co-op too….and there is multiplayer and Zombie DLC I think.
Correction to my earlier post…Eufloria is not cross-buy, not that I was gonna play it on PS3 anyway, so that’s lucky.11/04/14 at 11:06 #216913
Yeah that’s a good point. I hadn’t noticed the multiplayer, and certainly not the co-op, so I’m excited to give it a go now. That said I can’t help thinking that if I need a partner, I should’ve of gone for the PS3 version. I never knew about the co-op element.11/04/14 at 11:19 #216915
The co-op is great, freeze and I did it together – on some missions one of you is the sniper providing cover for the other person is on the ground running around blowing stuff up, completing objectives. It’s brilliant co-op – I’m really excited for V3 now and would love to team up with freeze again as it’s been a while since we’ve done anything co-op!11/04/14 at 18:18 #216963freezebug2Participant
Yup, Youles and I have ventured into co-op on a couple of games and it was very enjoyable, more advantageous on my part as Youles is a real crack shot. Sniper Elite V2 co-op was a trophy campaign for us but it’d be a proper blast if the SP campaign can be completed in the same co-operative way, which I think it can.
@Youles We’ll have to co-op Gattling Gears 2 next gen, or something of a similar shooty style ;)
