Thought I’d start a thread for anyone wanting to share their creations, challenge playlists or tips, or for anyone like me looking for tips!
Has anyone got their heads around how best to drive in Valley? The handling is melting my brain, braking and turning seems to be a bad idea and the controls are so twitchy.29/03/16 at 15:28 #264038
Which number in the Valley?
I am loving it and will need time away from career to build a track lol31/03/16 at 09:13 #264147
Pretty much all the Valley tracks, but in particular the circuits. I’ve managed to get gold on all the white and green Stadium and Canyon tracks and really like those two locations but Valley and whatever the other one is called are stumping me, the controls just feel way too twitchy and in the third person view it’s so hard to judge exactly where your car is pointing and that exact moment to stop turning. Not as in love with this game as I’d like to be, I’ve realised that I prefer Trackmania Stadium on my PC for all those stadium tracks and the excellent handling. There’s too much dirt and the handling is slightly looser in the Turbo Stadium. Having said that, Turbo is still horrendously addictive :)31/03/16 at 13:13 #264158
I know the feeling of turning on Valley due to mud and trees in the way and sickening first person auto mode (loving that tho.)
The trick about turning on mud tracks is never ever use break. Just hold down acceleration and when it’s about to turn just let it go and tap acceleration 2 or 3 times when turning to keep the speed momentum going. Surprisingly I did the same on concrete as sometimes the turns are not exactly a hard left/right so drifting isn’t necessary really.
If it helps Ron use my Ghost and follow my lead and see if that helps.
I prefer to stay on the track until I get Gold even if it’s 50 attempts lol. I believe ignoring the track and settled for Silver and move will be a small mistake because when you return to that track you failed to get Gold you more likely to spend same amount of time as you did in the first place because you won’t remember where the trunk are and how close you were to get Gold etc…
Keep us posted currently on Track 63 (Rollercoaster Lagoon) Green Series.31/03/16 at 20:02 #264179
Nice thanks Del! I remember there was a trick to Valley from Trackmania United, but couldn’t remember what that trick was, I’ll try not braking at all :) And yeah I know what you mean, might as well plug away and get gold once you’ve started a track. Not got much time for the PlayStation right now due to having babies (well, my wife had them, I just feed them and avoid changing nappies haha), so I’m settling for silver to enjoy the game more.31/03/16 at 23:29 #264209
My spelling OMFG break seriously it’s brake I can blame auto correct on that or predictive text and also trunk wtf it’s turns dammit xD
Didn’t know you had a kid or I may have forgotten well just enjoy playing… I plan to try my hardest to get the Platinum =D02/04/16 at 22:06 #264354SitorimonParticipant
Adoring this game so much :) Not made and published anything yet but will be doing my take on F1 tracks in a Trackmania style in the near future!02/04/16 at 22:07 #264355SitorimonParticipant
Also, second Del’s comment – dirt and sand – don’t brake, its all in the acceleration pumping03/04/16 at 21:02 #264367
Cheers dudes, I’ve gotten better by braking less, bizarrely!
Right now I’m watching my 11 and 7 year old nephews play Double Driver, they playing together so well it’s absolutely amazing!! What a team. Someone should get Obama and Putin together for a bit of this.16/04/16 at 23:31 #265173
Wonder how everyone is getting on? I haven’t returned since the release of DiRT Rally….. it’s soooo good.
