Big thanks to these two Legends R1MJAW and Pixel both helped me defeat a boss in order for me to progress for the hidden trophy that is a side mission further on and towards Rank 50. I begged R1M to help me out again for one last time as I needed help to defeat the boss….. again. Also helped defeat the other boss for my other character.
Huge thanks again lads and let me know if you need me for trophy related or even co-op/MP sesh for trophies ;)

100% both PS Plus games – Gone Home and Sportsfriends both very easy and doesn’t take long lol.
Currently playing Titan Attacks and then maybe Strider or Grim Fandango or even Guacamolee and hopefully get 100%/Platinum before Deus Ex.
Just glad that the PS4/Vita PS Plus games are getting cleared after fully completing them….. dreading the PS3 though haven’t touched these except for Burnout Crash (one trophy away from 100%)
Hoping for a decent plus games for the likes of Knack or South Park Stick of Truth lol

Stick it to the Man was a fun game! Saw you playing Ether One too Del…hope you didn’t come across too many of the glitches, otherwise it can be necessary to replay the entire game (albeit short).

I got my 6,500th trophy last night which was the DiRT Rally platinum (plat #104). I found the game’s difficulty really inconsistent. I breezed the 1970, 2010 and Group B championships, but the 2000 and R4 ones caused me problems at certain locations. I’d sometimes be 4-6 seconds off the pace through 1 sector even though I’d gone flat-out with a fully upgraded vehicle! It was also annoying that rather than being challenging it’s more a case of just trial-and-error until you get a clean run which just causes huge amounts of frustration – either that or I’m just shite. Furthermore all the other competitors but one other are shit and have the occasional failures. The other one is your only real competition and they never seem to have a bad stage and as such you have to beat them everytime as they will only ever come second to you. Anyway, I got there in the end. So pleased to have that done and out the way now!

Now I’m going to move on to the latest (and last?) Rocket League DLC which – shocker – has some grindy trophies to keep you playing. At least it’s a fun game but I’ll be waiting for a certified item to drop, and then I’ll need to fully upgrade it which could take quite some time!

@Youles I have came across glitches that my game wouldn’t continue and that I can travel to the locations on the board as it felt like a crash but had to wait as it wasn’t a crash….. it was a 5mins loading…. honestly.
Completed the game 12hrs….. have to admit I got stuck alot! So used a guide quite a few times and then decided fuck it halfway through I just used a video walkthrough….. (was watching footy while playing this lol)

Well done on your DiRT Platinum Youles =D

Ether One Platinum no. 285 =D

    Thanks mate.

Yeah, it was tough at times. I had to use a guide in the dock or factory area with some barrels or something (if I remember correctly). Shame the glitches and loading issues were never fixed, not even for the physical release which came sometime after!

I think DiRT in particular is very difficult on a controller, as there can always be that problem of trying to hit the soft spot with steering. It’s definitely easy to beat times on a clean run in the lower diffculties, but on the higher ones I’ve found a bit of pressure to really nail every corner fast irrespect of getting a clean run. I agree you have to be clean most of the time though, as penalties penalise that much it’s better to restart. The AI is definitely not a strong point too. Some challenging enough times and a few quirks which add to the realism, but I think there’s room for something a bit more dynamic.

    Congrats on the platinum anyway!

    Thanks mate.

That’s a good way of putting it – perhaps it could be more dynamic to your skills level and push you a bit, or allow other drivers to come in different places meaning a 1st isn’t always required. Constant restarting isn’t fun, and after all this is a game! Hardcore fans can compete on the harder settings of with online times, or daily/weekly events.

I also thought it lacked locations, and all the roads had “borders” – either ditches or snowy banks – would have been nice if some locations had long run-offs to allow for your mistakes etc.

On the whole I enjoyed it though, and it’s good to see a return to rallying roots. Surprised they haven’t milked it for DLC yet, there’s usually LOADS with Codies’ DiRT games!

They’ve been taking a much more healthy approach to DLC of recent, which is very very welcome. Helps that it’s been in Early Access with a late console release, it meant that the April update could be bundled in free.

It’s hardcore though, through and through. It’s the Dark Souls of racing games by all accounts. I do like the unforgiving stages, it captures the stress and risk of a real rally and because I’m one of those people I like the sim factor. Maybe in the future they could offer something similar to Forza, a normal physics package and a simulator physics package, to cater for everyone’s preferences.
