@freeze – I know mate, not sure where the time has gone! I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Gatling Gears – decent game that! :)
@ron – TLG trophy list is a bit of a pain….5-hour speed run, no deaths run (those 2 can be combined), and some rather annoying collectables. One set are of Hints, which you have to hang around idling for between 5-10 minutes to get some to trigger….and there are 95 of them! Some trigger easily to be fair though – definitely one for a YouTube guide though. Fortunately, all the collectables do carry over on multiple playthroughs. I did one playthrough first just to enjoy the game, then have since done once for the speedrun and a third for collectables/no deaths/misc combat trophies. The danger is that there is no chapter select even after completion, so if you miss anything you have to start an entirely new playthrough. Definitely use USB and/or the PS+ Cloud to back up some save files!! ;)
@Del – nice going mate, you’re a trophy monster!!! Well played, sir.09/01/17 at 09:43 #280958ron_mcphattyParticipant
Cheers Youles, I think I might leave the collectibles then and go for my other aim of just getting an ‘A’ on PSN Profiles :) Looking forward to starting but it might not be for a while, need to get a long evening to myself!09/01/17 at 09:50 #280959
Actually Ron, what you could do is print a list of the Hints (they are the worth thing about the plat) and tick off all the ones you get from playing naturally…then at least you’d save a lot of time if you were to do a playthrough to mop up the rest. The trouble for me was that I had to get all of them as I didn’t know which ones I’d already got naturally! :( Knowing that would have saved me a lot of time.
Furthermore, why is a trophy awarded for people who need so many Hints along the way – silly if you ask me!
It’s a very good game and has some truly amazing moments, but the camera and Trico’s obedience (lack of) can be causes of short periods of mass frustration.09/01/17 at 23:48 #280992freezebug2Participant
Well done Del, another solid milestone achieved in your quest for world trophy dominance!
Great job with the 7,000’th Youles, satisfying when a plan works ;)
Agreed Ron, I found Ratchet & Clank a delight from start to platinum.
Never a hint of grind even after 3 playthrough’s for me, a highlight of current gen ;)10/01/17 at 08:56 #281011
Cheers freeze, for The Last Guardian platinum last night! :)
For the rest of January I intend to go back and 100% Rise of the Tomb Raider, Goat Simulator, Game of Thrones and platinum Lara Croft GO. That’ll be a further 4 games ticked off the list. Then I’ll focus on restoring 100% for The Division, and probably start either Gravity Rush 2 or Resident Evil 7!
I have Ratchet & Clank and have played it a lot with my son on his profile, but haven’t managed to play it through myself yet. It’s on the “To Do” list though!10/01/17 at 13:05 #281031
Wow loving your planning Youles think I’ll do that and check all my games but sadly most of them are PS3 not PS4 lol
Just nabbed Platinum #301 – Goat Simulator…. man that game was mad fun but one trophy pissed me off the most….. The Flapmaster *shakes fist*
Looking back that last sentence…. that was a bad idea LOL ah well I’ll the thoughts to you lovely TSA members =P10/01/17 at 13:20 #281034
Well done mate – there is a massive thread about that trophy on PlayStationTrophies.org – everyone miffed as all the other trophies are easy and pretty fun or amusing! That one was definitely a stinker. I’m currently working on the latest (PayDay) DLC actually – there have been Zombie and MMO DLCs already too and there is another “Space” DLC coming.
Yeah, I try and plan – having done a few long games since October, I want to work through a few short and PSN games to knock a few games off the pile-o-shame!11/01/17 at 20:05 #281119Dan JonesParticipant
I found Ratchet and Clank a really enjoyable platinum, one of my favourite games of last year.
I’m currently trying to get the F1 2016 plat, but finding it hard to finish a race in pro career. A real kick in the teeth when you feel like your getting a hang of the raw racing gameplay with no assists, all of a sudden a bad gear change on an apex and you’re in the wall and out of the race and you’ve wasted an hour racing. Missing a few other time trial trophies and an online championship one, but I reckon I can manage it.
I’ve got a massive backlog of games to get through. Managed to finish Mirror’s Edge Catalyst today. Still enjoying finishing off the side missions but doubt I’ll push myself to go for 100% completion. I’m simply not good enough to 3 star all the time trial dashes.
Next single player game to start is either Rise of the Tomb Raider or The Order.12/01/17 at 09:00 #281140
Check out the almost daily forum activity – go us! ;)
Good luck with F1 Dan! I’d recommend The Order next – it’s shorter than RotTR which will allow you to move on to it a bit quicker. I thought The Order was brilliant, although I know some people thought it lacked value. RotTR on the other hand has lots of modes and DLC so can take a while. Tef and I did a lot of Endurance Co-op which is a lot of fun!
My arm could be twisted with doing Ratchet and Clank soon, although I think I owe it to myself to actually start Uncharted 4!! Otherwise, once a game sits in the pile-o-shame for too long, it is forever overlooked!
I painfully restored my 100% trophies on Goat Simulator last night. Now to finish Game of Thrones for platinum #115.12/01/17 at 12:55 #281152
Yay go us…. we need to remind twitters this doesn’t have a character limits, in case they have forgotten xD
@Dan I know the feeling for time wasted… I have had my shares with that moments alot! My recent one was DiRT Rally online to try get the top tier or even on hardest difficulty. Before that the longest hours wasted due to disconnections was The Crew a freaking 4hr race trophy!!!
Highly recommended The Order first what @Youles said is spot on. It’s short but so good especially the detail and the graphics of the game. Its an easy Platinum just requires 2 playthroughs. Play it your way and enjoy it then 2nd time round are collectibles and misc…
I have made a note of my backlog with doable Platinum or even try my hardest lol…. around 60 games (Yikes!!!) Most of them are PS3 and some on Vita and only 4 on PS4 lol
Will do one game per console at a time Nd go for the ones that are closest to the Platinum no matter how much grind involved I will push it through ^^12/01/17 at 16:52 #281161freezebug2Participant
@Del I started Dirt Rally not long ago after bagging it in the Jan Sale and I’ve been enjoying the challenge but after getting first place through to and including Elite difficulty in the Rallycross championship, cannot believe the hike in difficulty to Masters. Heck, I’ve gone from top three in all races so far to 12th place lol! Mind you, I have been lazy with the car set ups, having only really altered the transmission ratio’s :P
@youles Wish I had UC4 and R&C yet to play, cracking little pile of shame, good times ahead! ;)12/01/17 at 17:16 #281162
@freeze – DiRT Rally was my hardest platinum’s I’ve had in a long time. The flawless runs you have to achieve on the higher difficulty settings are ridiculous and they stop being fun very quickly. Restart, restart, restart….and when you crash near to the finish line it’s SO frustrating!!!! Yeah my pile-o-shame has some good games in it for sure. I fear my backlog would easily run into triple figures with PS3, Vita and PSN games I’ve bought! :/12/01/17 at 18:47 #281170
Cannot wait to return to DiRT with VR support xD12/01/17 at 21:10 #281182ron_mcphattyParticipant
Platinum 21, Rocket League just achieved! How many plats have you gotten this week Del?;)12/01/17 at 22:11 #281188
