I finished The Last Guardian today, what a beautiful game! I can see why it took so long to make, Trico is so expressive and moves and reacts so realistically, and the valley is stunningly grim and oppressive just like the one in Ico. It really is a masterpiece, the ending had me in tears, I’ll definitely go back and do a speed run and another collectible play through that’s a platinum I want :)01/02/17 at 09:30 #282328YoulesParticipant
@Del – no problem fella, am looking forward to playing something with you again, it’s been a while! Think the first game we ever did co-op together was Rage…around Oct 2011!
@ron – nice one mate, I thought it was a fabulous game. Not perfect, due to some dodgy and frustrating camera work at times – but as you say Trico is so impressive at times, and the first few cut-scenes with his movement were quite spectacular. I rarely get those “wow” moments these days in games (hard to please perhaps as I’ve been gaming for 20+ years), but those scenes were something. A bit like the train climbing bit in Uncharted 2 – some moments like that will always stick out. The platinum is nice to have for sure, but it does ruin the game somewhat – as you may find – as the voice prompts are just annoying and Trico on the speedrun can be a twat, put simply.
I’m tempted to go for the Shadow of the Colossus platinum as I have TLG and Ico, but may leave it for a while.01/02/17 at 17:44 #282369
Haha yeah being a twat is putting it lightly! He/she is still so clever though, never thought I’d see any pet character behave so realistically. I also love that Trico does some parts of the platforming for you which leaves you to wrestle the camera around for a good view of the valley. Maybe I’ll leave the plat for a while as I don’t want the game spoiled, that ending left me with such warm fuzzy feelings, may they never go away!01/02/17 at 18:31 #282370JustTaylorNowParticipant
I have a spare code for ghost recon wildlands closed beta, it also includes 3 friends invite on Ubisoft site.
If anyone want one shout me out10/02/17 at 19:56 #282784
Just got the Absolute Drift platinum in 1 day and 21 hours! I’ve got a mightily stiff neck now from leaning at the screen and squeezing R2 way too hard for way too many hours! Great fun though :)10/02/17 at 23:20 #282789

10 days between plats! Your a machine Del, it takes me about 5 years between mine. That’s when I can be arsed to complete a game these days;)25/03/17 at 09:12 #285132
Looks like the TSA senior management have tidied up the forum, cheers guys :)
Last night I finished Horizon and bagged the platinum. I think I fell into the trap of levelling up too much for the story, having done everything before the final mission. I didn’t use the ancient armour and the easiness sort of suits me as I don’t get much time for games at the moment, but it would’ve been nice to be challenged more. Having said that it was still awesome, I’ve never enjoyed fighting in a game as much, the simple RPG system was spot on for me and the story was even better than Alex Garland’s Enslaved plot which was my old yardstick for post apocalyptic sagas! Superb, I’d write superlatives about it all day if I could, and the withdrawal is already tough to cope with. Guerilla, make more now, pleeeeeease!!28/03/17 at 09:43 #285248double-o-daveParticipant
Same here – all Platinumed up. I did use the ancient armour for the hunting trials though – a couple of them were pretty tough, even with the armour. Tying down Glinthawks whilst having Tramplers continuously charging at me was god dam annoying!
Fantastic game – the only thing I didn’t really like were the Hunting Trials. I hate being on a timer in a game, especially when doing a stealth trial and being told patience is the key! If patience is the key, don’t give me only 90 bloody seconds to complete the trial!!!!!28/03/17 at 10:59 #285254
Nice work! The Horizon Platinum Club is getting big. Yeah I agree the trials were a pain, there wasn’t much skill needed to beat the times if you were fairly lucky, just sprinted and dodged your way through, the stealth ones were especially stupid. I did like the Thunderjaw ones though, especially where you have to override the two others and take him on three to one!
I managed to stumble across the master override location way before the story took me there but the game had a great way of dealing with me, three stalkers walked up to me uncloaking and blocked the way, charging when I moved forward and standing still when I backed off, I got the message straight away and thought it was really smart. Shame the training dummies didn’t come with a map, that would’ve made the collectibles a perfect addition.28/03/17 at 11:19 #285256double-o-daveParticipant
Oh yeah, the training dummies. That was the last thing I did. Had to use a guide, but some were still hard to find, even when they were right in front of me. Half of them blended in with the scenery.28/03/17 at 16:24 #285274
Yeah they were tough to spot a lot of the time! I don’t know why they weren’t part of a quest.
I’ve had to move on to DriveClub Bikes to get over Horizon, the one downside of completing a game entirely is that there’s nowt left to do, apart from silently scream at Guerilla to make some DLC haha.12/04/17 at 13:12 #286180
Driveclub Bikes platinum, woohoo. Careful Del, I’m catching up… (I’m really not!)
