Hi mate, 7.45 is a bit awkward as the mrs tends to commandeer the TV for the soaps until about 9 – unless I can convince her to have an early night lol. I’m usually online from about 9 on… If you’re not mid game when I come on I’m def up for it :-)11/12/13 at 12:39 #207146
Cool, 9pm should be fine, I can play something else until then! Hopefully we’ll get a couple of randoms who aren’t idiots! ;)
I probably won’t use a headset as I have to listen out for my two boys who’ll be sleeping!11/12/13 at 14:26 #207148McProleyParticipant
So, I’ve had my PS4 for nearly a week now and not realy plaqyed much on it at all apart from some CoD Ghosts. I tried Knack as well but thought it was very poor and clumsy to control. Hoping to get KZ soon though to see the true capabillities of the new console’s graphics.
Instead, I managed my plat on Tearaway on Vita which is one of the best games I’ve played for it. Just fun to play and a cute story :)12/12/13 at 11:59 #207245zander14rfcParticipant
Just went online on Resogun to finish the last level on veteran and while searching for a co-op level I got a nice little surprise…Tuffcub has joined the game! :O
Anyway thanks Tuff for putting up with my first three attempts of god awfulness but I saved it by solo-ing the boss19/12/13 at 08:35 #207997
Really chuffed I got my CoD Ghosts platinum last night, means I’m going to give myself “easy” or fun games to play over Christmas so I can avoid any stressful gaming/trophy hunting….I’m going to playthrough Contrast on PS4 and finish (the awesome) Tearaway on Vita, then move on to Lego Marvel on PS4 and Lego Lord of the Rings on Vita! Never played any of the Lego games before so I hope I like them since I’ll be playing two at once!19/12/13 at 08:55 #207998
Youles, if you like the Lego games and still bother with your PS3 I recommend Lego Batman 2 and Lego Pirates of The Caribbean. Both fun games if you enjoy the films\universes they’re set in, and easy platinums too ;-) Might have to give Lego Marvel a go at some point…
Congrats on your Ghosts plat again mate but like I said, I’m counting on you to help me with the challenges trophy :-P lol.19/12/13 at 09:28 #207999
@Lyts1985 – thanks mate, if I do I may get Batman 2 on Vita (have too much of a PS3 backlog already, so it’s more likely to get played on Vita lol).
And thanks for your help on Extinction, (I did mention you all in a thread somewhere) ;)
No problem regarding the challenge trophy, we should all try and get together one evening a week until we all have the trophies. the 50% accuracy one at the Cabin is a t**t due to how many aliens spawn at that later stage, so it would be useful if we all had Sentry Guns, which I know MrProley has now unlocked.
Other awkward challenges are “kill the leper” (as he can just bugger off), kill aliens whilst they’re in the air (ffs) and the “X amount of kills with traps”. I thought the latter was near impossible during the later stages but Tef was an absolute trooper and nearly did it last night albeit by about 0.0001 seconds! I think it was because he likes to get up close and personal with his beloved pistols. He’s probably polishing them right now!19/12/13 at 11:43 #208018McProleyParticipant
Hahaha! he does love them pistols! I’m up for keeping trying for the challenges trophy. Was a good laugh last night. Love a bit of co-op gaming19/12/13 at 13:04 #208027
Lol you’re more than welcome mate, I’m enjoying it! Although I think your cries for help were somewhat exaggerated seeing as you’ve managed to nail the hardest of the bunch single handed! Hats off to you.
The Leper challenge is a royal pain in the ass. Don’t mind the trap ones as long as they come early… Later on they can be a swine. The accuracy one isn’t too bad early on – get one shot in then just melee the rest of the kills… The later stages are a nightmare though. Also not keen on the “kill so many aliens with this gun” challenge as I usually find I don’t have enough money to buy said gun or I simply can’t find the bugger… Grrr!19/12/13 at 15:00 #208034
@Lyts1985….to be fair, on solo the “X number of kills with shotgun” isn’t too bad as the number is less than if there are multiple players. However, I would suggest learning where all the guns are – I failed a challenge once as I couldn’t locate the sniper rifle quickly enough in the Cabin area….although I doubt I would have survived an attempt at killing any number of aliens at the cabin, with the bloody sniper rifle!!! Lol.
With the Leper, in the first area he tends to come down from the raised section (to the right to the starting point), then runs down the road – either towards the first barrier hive or towards the starting point, and buggers off out of the map. In the Town, I’ve always found the Leper appears in the area outside of the map (where a meteor often lands), behind the fence where there is a sentry gun within a sand-bag barrier. He then continues to run down the narrow alley (with the electric fence) towards the main open area in the middle. But you have to be quick, as soon as that challenge pops up I run to those areas. He’s slightly bigger than the others and seems to be entirely grey in colour, with no red/orange areas on it.
I can show you next time we play.
Hope that helps!19/12/13 at 18:40 #208044
As long as I can find the gun and can afford it (and it ain’t the bloody sniper rifle) I *should* be alright lol. But would definitely appreciate the help :-) cheers for the tips though – I’ll certainly keep trying… Although I seem to keep dying at the second barrier hive; very frustrating!
Which class do you recommend or did you use on your solo run? I’m trying the Tank at the mo thinking the extra bit of health may help but wondered what your thoughts are :-)19/12/13 at 23:43 #208074
Yeah, second barrier give is the hardest, after that it’s not too bad. McProle and I did all the challenges tonight, apart from we got 11/20 sniper rifle kills at the Cabin!! Bloody sniper rifle lol!!
On solo I used the Tank class, Sentry Guns, Armour Pearcing Ammo and Riot Shield. I think the key is to upgrade each thing at the right time. I immediately upgraded the sentry guns so I could have two (even if I didn’t need to use two at a time until the Town). Using sentry guns saved on ammo and allowed me to utilise pistol ammo which can otherwise be made redundant through having a decent primary weapon. It also made sense to conserve ammo since it isn’t good value if not upgraded and you go through it fast, making it costly! I think I then split my skill points between improving the Tanks’ health and ammo, but I think I stopped upgrading ammo at about 50-60% but continued to fully upgraded my health. Then I upgraded my pistol until I could carry 2 primary weapons, but DIDN’T do the final upgrade as 3 skill points is better spent up upgrading the armour. There seemed no point in upgrading armour until I had done full health, since the health regenerates but the armour doesn’t, which means you could waste $1000 by getting hit once! When I finally had some skill points going spare, I upgraded the Riot Shield and stuck it on my back for a bit of extra protection.
Another small thing, I tried to get by with just my pistol and sentry gun (if required) for as long as possible in the first area so that I didn’t buy one type of weapon, only to get a challenge for another weapon type of weapon and waste $1200-$2000!! This shouldn’t be a problem since the Tank also has improved melee strength.
Hope that helps and makes sense! :)20/12/13 at 15:31 #208142ron_mcphattyParticipant
I’ve had a really busy couple of weeks, finally finished for Christmas yesterday about two hours before my friend Yuki from Tokyo pitched up to visit! Had an awesome day and the most ridiculously big and tasty T-bone steak last night after introducing him to ale. More interestingly for you guys, Yuki was kind enough to bring me a new Vita 2000.
I’ve been playing Thomas Was Alone and Wipeout 2048 this afternoon, so far so good. The new LCD screen is excellent, I haven’t got an original Vita anymore so I can’t make a comparison but I’m really pleased with how vivid and sharp this one looks! Its easily as good as my girlfriends iPad Mini, the only noticable difference are the darks and blacks which aren’t as deep, the original OLED is definitely better in that respect. The new weight, thickness and grippy back feel great, I’m finding it much easier to hold than the original. The build quality feels excellent too, the front is similar to the PSP 2000 and 3000 except with no squeaky or loose parts, its a thin and solid. The only downsides so far are that its the worst dust magnet I’ve ever come across, ten times worse than the launch PS3, and the X and O buttons are the Japanese way around during menu navigation. Both forgivable quirks I suppose :)21/12/13 at 09:17 #208182spooner_22Participant
Just finished playing Hotline Miami story. Pretty great game for the price. Might try to get a few of the other trophies on it to get more play out of it now.21/12/13 at 11:00 #208189bigchrissycParticipant
Playing lots of Resogun, trying to make it through to the end of arcade on verteran difficulty is the next quest then its complete a master level and a 15x mutliplyer then hopefully i will Plat it. Trying to find motivation to play Need For Speed, as i find after an hour or so i start getting bored. Mostly its been NBA 2K14 MyPlayer mode sapping all of my time, if i put this on i rarely get off it for hours.
