With Christmas just around the corner, I was wondering what people are hoping Santa will bring them this year?
I’m still a bit undecided, I’m tempted by a Kindle (or other e-reader), but I’m not sure if it would be better to spend the money on a cheap tablet that can at least do a little bit more than just books, while still being small enough to use on the tube. Hopefully there will be some good deals on Black Friday too which will help me make up my mind!24/11/15 at 22:43 #256850
With so many high quality 7″ tablets out there for £50, I’m not sure I can see much benefit to the Kindle e-readers aside from the more eye-friendly display.
I’m currently on the lookout for a few cheap games, although mainly on the run up to Christmas more than anything. I’d like Project cars to go for £20, along with maybe Battlefront for £30ish. Also really would like to get the Turtle Beach Sandtrooper headset as an upgrade to my P11 headset.
I doubt I’ll be buying anything on Black Friday though. Already got Forza Horizon 2 and a Driving Force Shifter through the normal offers of the week, so I’ve no other plans for now. Codemasters Humble Bundle has just popped up, so I’ll probably grab that too.25/11/15 at 08:47 #256876
I got an email from Playstation – Check out these Black Friday deals – but I can’t open the website, it goes to the PS Store and it just keeps on loading forever. Nothing pops up.
If a deal would come up for Hotline Miami 2 I would be down for that.25/11/15 at 09:18 #256880
My Xmas wishlist – Until Dawn, Mad Max, MGS:Phantom Pain.
3D Blu Rays – Jurassic World, Mad Max Fury Road and Ant-Man.
20th Anniversary PS4 Dualshock controller.
If I don’t get any of the above then come Boxing Day. I am ready!25/11/15 at 14:50 #256895
Yeah, I like the portability of a kindle, but the extra features of a tablet are definitely appealing. The Kindle Fire currently at £50 is one I’m keeping an eye on, although I’d prefer a n android tablet that uses Google services rather than Amazon’s.25/11/15 at 15:04 #256896
I’m a bit skint at the moment as I’ve bought a load of games recently, so I’m probably not going to ask/hope for much for Xmas as I’ve had a lot lately and because I pre-order everything I’m annoying to buy for (apparently) – although I could do with some new trainers, but might as well wait for the January sale! Gonna spend any budget on my wife, she works fairly unsociable hours and works hard so it’s nice to spoil her at Christmas! Got my sons some cool presents so looking forward to them opening theirs! I genuinely don’t mind not getting anything, I’m just happy if they’re all happy and I can enjoy the time off (and get in some gaming)…hopefully there will be snow back in GTAV over Christmas, as I missed it last year when there were DDOS attacks! :(
@del – I think it was GameStopUK were doing Until Dawn Extended Edition for £19.99 today!25/11/15 at 19:13 #256900
@youles nice but will wait for Black Friday deals and I know it will be like 2 games for £30 on Boxing Day so I am going to risk waiting until Black Friday. Still got Fallout which I haven’t started yet!25/11/15 at 20:04 #256904
I missed the snow in GTA last year too, if they bring it back I might get a quick PS+ sub for a mess about!
Does anyone have a fitness tracker also? Thinking of maybe getting a Fitbit or something similar to measure heart rate, sleep etc.26/11/15 at 00:26 #256911

Be a grumpy git on christmas day if most of TV is pure crap.
Bemoan the fact that i can’t buy any new games thus settle for whatever i own in my vast collection.
TSA after dark ’15.
Joking aside, my christmas is limited due to my current status as unemployed and having just paid off a laptop, i can just about get some christmas food(ish) in. However, if i do turn my fortunes around, Batman, Harleqy Quinn comics are being ordered along with Avengers 2 and probably a few random games. It is unlikely though.26/11/15 at 08:58 #256924
On the day Black Friday,
The discounts gave to me:
Beyond Two Souls and Painkiller Collector’s Edition for a total of 6 quid + shipping :)
Painkiller was a childhood game of mine, the gang used to get together and play this and laugh a bunch, I just want to relive those times. And also….a Collector’s Edition of a game, any game at all…for…3 pounds…
Much wow, many amaze, deliver fast, rip presents, speak can’t :))))26/11/15 at 09:33 #256926
@TheLoneSteven Now is a great time to get seasonal work in stores ‘I believe that was your forte’ they are all advertising due to staff holidays, shirkers shirking, busy times etc.
Make an impression during your short time and who knows, worth keeping on and ladder to management?
I’ve done it myself in the past just for a few xmas bucks, stacking shelves in Tesco….means to an end! Although that career stagnated lol.26/11/15 at 14:10 #256952

Not doing retail. Much better at doing admin and with any luck, i shall get temprary work soon.27/11/15 at 08:31 #256985
I think I missed the boat on most of the best deals, probably should have stayed up late last night to grab ’em. Everything decent is out of stock! :(
Did anyone get anything they wanted?27/11/15 at 13:53 #257004
I was hoping some inconspicuous items wouldn’t sell out, but they did. That Sandtrooper headset which I wanted to get next month dropped by only £5 and has sold out :(
It seems as though a lot of the game offers are completely gone, with allocated stock already shifted. It does look like you have to be a madman battering everyone in your way at midnight to get a decent offer (and that’s just the online).
I did notice the Kindle 7″ dropped to £34.99 last night, and it’s still in stock if you’re interested.27/11/15 at 17:04 #257016
Thanks Avenger, I saw that too but upon reading some reviews I decided that a tablet that size with that spec isn’t really worth it – I’d rather have a larger + better tablet but without the larger cost!
It felt like this year there were only a handful of great deals that sold out super quickly, the rest of it is just tat that shops are trying to get rid of…
