ParticipantThe amount of flak the 8/10 is getting proves to me that people just can’t accept or respect each other’s opinions. It’s sad because writers respect readers and their comments.
I’m not sure 10/10 from TSA would change the game either, and 8/10 certainly shouldn’t affect the site’s credibility.

ParticipantDefinitely interested in this, love competitive racing, always attend the Monday evening meets on PS4 and do regular practice each week.
Problem is it’s been a while since I have raced on PC, and definitely been a while since rFactor. I wouldn’t mind knowing what’s required, as I’d be tempted to enter back into the PC racing scene.
Currently play PCars 2, Assetto Corsa, FM6 & FM7, F1 2017, with Thrustmaster TX, T3PA-Pro pedals, 599 rim, GT omega chassis.

ParticipantIt’s definitely one of those games that’s powered by community forums and wiki’s. You have go work at it and learn, that’s what I like about it.
Also doesn’t hurt to have a wingman if you have friend interested in Co op.

ParticipantThe advanced discovery sensor is the right direction here. It’s crazy expensive, and you won’t want to take it into battles for risk of losing it, but it maps an entire star system which will help you discover the path to some planets which missions lead you to. It’s great for mapping asteroid belts etc too.
The default sensor has limited range, and visual scanning won’t cut it. You can buy star charts but they’re few and far between.
Courier service is by far the quickest way to earn money, then you buy new ships and equipment, and eventually go bounty hunting and mining.
Other useful things, and auto dock module is great, really cuts out the hassle while you figure out you next course. Always try to group your courier missions and figure out the quickest route, UPS style. Bounty hunting, sometimes you let them come to you. You happen to travel along them casually, get interdiction, suddenly decide you can’t evade disruption, and just happen to kill them etc.

ParticipantBe sure to check everyone’s YouTube accounts if you haven’t already Freeze, they’ll have coverage of rounds 3, 4, and 5. Will probably look to post some overall highlights on here in any case.

Participant3 weeks, 2x 25% each with a 50% on the final week sounds good. A 5 lapper each week before the main races could be good as an installation race.
Track suggestions:
Week 1:
Australia (installation)
Canada (round 1)
Hungary (round 2)Week 2:
Singapore (installation)
Belgium (round 3)
Mexico (round 4)Week 3:
United States (installation)
Abu Dhabi (round 5)Agree with damage on, it will make things colourful. And weather too.

ParticipantLike a good old fashioned Bernie, I do believe the middle race format (2x quali + 25% race) would be better, just to give people a even chance of success if they may crash out or whatever, and also to mix up tracks and battles. I do like the idea of a 50%, just to divulge in long term strategy and dynamic weather, but it’s not the most accessible.
I really do think Traction Control should be banned, but I realise those with controllers are going to have a hard time without it. I’ve never used TC and kept pace just fine in the dry without TC, but the rain is where the real discrimination in pace is. Whatever the decision, the Pit Assist should be banned, no question. Let everyone use the brake and gauge it to the entry. The rest of the assists don’t matter too much.
In terms of rules, I see no reason to change from what we have which is fair, if even a bit Charlie Whiting **** off when it goes wrong.
Also, is a formation lap possible on Online. That would be awesome.

Looking at the reviews, there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of love for it. It is just a steering frame which I suppose makes the controller easier to handle when using tilt/turn functionality of the DualShock 4. Best way to decide about it would be to use your controller’s tilt functionality on DriveClub, see if you like it, if you do and want a better grip and visual reference, get the frame.
To be honest, it is useless to resist. I will beat all of your DriveClub times, you know it to be true. It is your destiny. :P

ParticipantHad a great little fight with the AI in F1 2016 yesterday. My first race since the beta, and it went relatively well barring my lock-ups and Hamilton’s ‘understeer’ moment. A few highlights, with a epic hunt for 3rd place in the second half of the video:

ParticipantAmen to that. I’m enjoying all the work I get, but I do long for a bit of balance to the schedule. Thankfully got the day off today! I can moan on TSA all I like :P
Oh and play some F1, finally.

ParticipantBeen working non-stop for last few weeks, so I can’t claim the Sunday’s have been too boring, plus Formula 1 has been on more often. Will be looking forward to the Malaysian GP this weekend, along with work, work, and oh, more work.

Participant3 episodes in, I have say, Robot Wars is AWESOME!
The last two episodes in particular have been fantastic, especially yesterday’s with TR2 storming most of the matches and some really good head-to-head matches.

ParticipantKnuts was absolutely hilarious. Loved Behemoth whacking those small bots around the arena, and one of the showdowns between Carbide and Behemoth which was properly entertaining.
I genuinely think Razor could have been in with a chance of challenging Carbide. Problem was that Razor never showed it’s teeth, and people’s robots actually seem to be quite tough and competitive these days (not flimsy as some them were in old Robot Wars).

ParticipantFinland is sublime for feeling the rhythm. It’s like electric when you get up to speed and flow trough the undulating road. One of my favourite locations, with most traumatic going to Sweden.
Avenger
ParticipantYeah, I really enjoyed it and pretty much my thoughts mirror the above.
I feel they need to do a few more things with the arena, maybe more house bots, 8 way one off robot wars, maybe a bit of smoke when a robot falls into the pit ala old robot wars.
But yeah, loving it.
