Yes that’s fine. Although my internet might have to be ditched and replaced what with the way it is performing at the moment, nevertheless there’s a strong chance it’ll work fine. Monday and Thursday nights are good for me, but feel free to throw other times my way and I’ll see what I can do.

Yeah it’s the gold edition. I got it as part of PS Plus but haven’t got around to playing yet. Presuming I can start the versus stuff straight away, then this is all sounding good.

Well for the sake of bringing some hope and avoiding the asylum, I have Resident Evil 5 on PS3 and I don’t mind helping out when I have got the spare time.

However I don’t have any save progress on RE5, and I’m not sure whether that matters or not. Also I am reliable, although my Internet connection has been less so recently. However we are getting it fixed tomorrow (I hope) and I was multiplaying the other day with some TSA’ers, so it’s not all that bad.

If the two above points are OK, then count me in as a possibility along with any other TSA’ers that respond to your thread :)

In some cases the game is coded so that something like 50 kills is logged into the save data. Hence, there must be 50 kills saved progress, then it will trigger a function, which will then trigger the trophy. However in other cases, the 50 kills (or whatever it is) is counted by the trophy data, which results in something like Killzone Mercs 10,000 kills trophy triggering at 9,600, because 400 kills were not accounted for by stats, but were accounted for by trophy data.

Both approaches are difficult to justify. The former is safer and simpler and can be patched easily if there is an error in the game logic (that code which can react to certain events), however it is limited by save progress. The latter makes trophy hunting easier, but if something is messed up, then it’s more difficult to fix if trophy data cannot be edited by the developer. Personally I’d just use the former and create suitable tracking procedure which would cover the entire game, so if you quit or get disconnected, kills, skills and whatever are accounted for.

I am being geeky here and I will stop xD but it is interesting why, in some cases, trophies are not fixed.

@Freeze, trust me, you want to try out Star Trek. That takes the biscuit with glitchy trophies.

However nightmare is averted. I have the Star Trek Platinum. Whilst I’ve expressed my thanks to Del himself for his help, I’ll just say that without a dedicated co op partner (and they don’t come more dedicated than him!) I wouldn’t of got through that bloody game, and quite frankly, when I get up to a reasonable 80% or so, I’m not inclined to stop trophy hunting solo or otherwise on a game.

That makes my 5th platinum, and Killzone mercs is at 98% and Far Cry 3 at 90%.

Incidentally with this Grid 2 global trophy, I was amazed at how simple it was. I selected global challenge, and it seemed to acknowledge my leaderboard listing, and Del’s leaderboard listing, it compared both of them, and said I had won the weekly challenge and ping, the trophy triggers. The strange thing is, that was the only time Del showed up on the leaderboards. When I was doing and checking the challenges, I was the only one on the leaderboard. It seems like its broke as you say Freezebug2. The rivals trophy didn’t pop up, and now I realise I have to race my rivals, but I can’t set up my rivals. It tells me I have no friends to set as rivals on Racenet. It’s just messed up. Not as much as some games, but nevertheless messed up when it shouldn’t be.

Well the Star Trek trophy hunter is now officially a nightmare. If the commendations which I’ve now completed weren’t a horror, then the ******** bugs are. The 20 revives trophy is notoriously glitchy (So I’ve read) and so is the Spock dying and leaving Kirk one also. Split-screen won’t let me earn the trophies so yep, definite nightmare.

To top it all, the notoriously glitchy Global challenge trophy in GRID 2 worked just fine. Entered the menu and it triggered exactly as it was supposed to. **** me. I REALLY DO need to relax.

Aye, big thanks to Del for all the help he has given me on collectibles and commendations. Even offline the game had driven me up the wall with some of it’s rustiness. Decided to sell it once I have that swirl wrapped platinum, then I’ll move on to Dead Space 3 co-op with Taylor Made.

I was thinking about the Bioshock Infinite Platinum, but I can’t do it, it’s too tough. It bugs me even more playing the game, as I have played it on PC so no real reason to play it again. Yet the game is registered on my trophy list, so it still miffs me a bit lol. I’m just going to stop thinking about trophies and have some random fun on TLOU multiplayer. I haven’t got the balls for trophy hunting like Del has.

@Taylor Made that would be good for Far Cry 3. However I think Dead Space 3 will arrive by Saturday, so it’s up to u which one you’d like to do. FC3 could probably wait as I do have one annoying SP trophy that I forgot about. The choice is yours. Is it OK if we make the multiplayer meet (for whatever game we do play) at around midday-ish on Saturday?

@Taylormade Seriously if you can help me on the Far Cry 3 co-op that would be BRILLIANT. It’s so annoying that they have put co-op trophies there as they’re in the way of my next platinum. Also yeah, I’ve been told I’ve got quite a distinct brummy accent, but I’ve never noticed it. Likely anyone else would have problem decrypting my voice lol.

@Youles I have played Dead Space 3 on the PC and the game seems ideal for co-op. I always wanted to play with someone so that we could mash up different weapon set ups and take different roles. What with all the difficulties, and the different weapon mods, I think co-op is a really good feature of the game.

One thing I actually came to this thread for yesterday was to say something about the Star Trek game me and Crazy_Del have been playing (on co-op). I have had mixed feelings about the game. At first I looked at the reviews and thought it was just another crap licensed game that had been commissioned to make money, but when I tried the game it was really good. The script is great, graphics OK, art design has been nailed, and there’s some nice variety in scenarios such as transporting each other short range past obstacles. It’s just a shame there isn’t more of that variety, more gun-play, and less obtrusive bugs. We’ve mainly just had disconnects that either glitch multiple Spocks lose our progress back to the section’s beginning. I’m still not sure whether to keep the game. I can trade in a load of bugs for a fiver when I’ve got the platinum.

I’ve also been playing The Last of Us which is just amazing on Single Player. Multiplayer has been a bit up and down with there being no way for the server matchmaking to gauge skill. There’s that little number, but it doesn’t seem to be at all accurate and if I get lumbered in a bad team, or against a quick and ruthless team, that’s it, people go hungry and my chances of getting 100 survivors drops. Overall I can’t complain, it’s flipping brilliant.

Last thing has been GRID 2. I’ve managed to learn to miss the initial race launch massacre and it’s got me into first and second a good few times now. I’ve managed to ditch the Honda NSX and Merc SLR in favour of an Audi R5 and a Jaguar XKR which have both been race modified. I’m thinking if I can get the buggy global challenge trophy, I can go for the platinum which on top of everything else I’m playing would be an 8th platinum.

That’s OK. I’m a distinct Brummy and it’s difficult to hear myself. Txt chat it is. Also I didn’t write the times down properly. I meant to say any time from 10am but I’d have to finish at 5pm because it’s a mate’s 21st Birthday.

EDIT: got the game. Should be here before Saturday.

Yep that’s fine Taylor Made. I can do any time between 10am and 5pm. Take your pick and let me know. Also do you want to do text chat or voice chat?

I’m free Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday each week. Anyone of those at any time day or night is fine for me as my work is fairly flexible. The only exception is that I can’t do this Wednesday.

@Taylormade possibly. I want to snag the game for a cheap price, but I want someone to meet up with and do co-op. Would you want to do the whole campaign and go for the platinum? and would you be willing to be generally flexible in meets? (I’m busy with Uni for the next few weeks so I mainly have weekends spare)

@Crazy_Del like I said, whenever for me. I can play Wipeout 2048 anytime.

If anyone else is up for the Far Cry 3 co-op, or is just willing to help out, it would be much appreciated. I still haven’t got anyone to play with, and it’s one platinum that is so close.
