Yep I’m fine for another meet. I bought an Audi Tier 2 for 100,000 credits which I’d love to try out.
No problem with the revenge takedown. It was difficult to explain last night, but basically I saw him to the left of me, went to take him down, but then he seemed to lose control so easily when I knocked him I assumed you managed to bash him behind. Anyhow, happy to avenge people :)
@Youles There are six co-op trophies, one for each co-op mission so it isn’t complicated. Just burn through the six missions and we’re done. If you could help me out it would be appreciated as it’s the only thing standing between me and the platinum. If you’d like to go for it, give me some times and we can work something out. The game itself (single player) is brilliant. A bit tetchy of framerate, but good looking overall. The platinum is also easy to get barring the co-op.
@Crazy_Del anytime weekend is fine for me, or anytime in the evening during the week. The Vita can be played anytime so I’m pretty flexible with times. It would be good to have a mash up on Wipeout.
Yeah I’m happy to join in the Wipeout meets too, on PS3 or on Vita. The trophies are ludicrously difficult to obtain (on 2048), I managed to get about a quarter of the way through the multiplayer but it loses its attractiveness quickly. Maybe a group of TSA’ers would add some spice :)
On a side note, I have the Far Cry 3 Platinum in sight, but I need some people to do the co-op with me so I can get the co-op trophies and then that’s it. Is anyone interested in helping me out one evening?
I feel that one thing heavily underestimated is the workmanship and software. Games are becoming increasingly time-consuming to make with much more work to do to create more detail, more impressive AI, and overall better game-play design (that works, and how do you know what works?). Add this to the game engine which if proprietary, takes even longer to code. All of this requires more workmanship and software.
Also with something like Tomb Raider, there are actors, motion capture, a sound score, and a script that has to work (and is therefore subject to many alterations). The developers may just need creative time as well. They have clearly thought about the game and its characters to make Tomb Raider different in a meaningful way.
Also on top of that I know for a fact competitive multiplayer is bastard to code for. It’s honestly a bit of a waste to code anything competitive unless it’ll have an edge and plenty of online support. I get what CD were trying to do, but I think it should have been swapped for something else like a strategic and dynamic whorde mode that forces players to craft stuff, set traps, and dynamically change settings. It would’ve been easier to do something like that than code a multiplayer framework that wouldn’t gain anything special for the game.
@Youles Spot on. I hate it when a guy comes up close with a custom melee weapon and kills me in one. Plus I use the stealth bow, so it’s up to the team to do their bit and for me to cover there backs and scout out the area. I can’t say custom load outs are of much use at the moment, although I’m veering away from guns and am quite liking the bow. The whole game has gotten me away from the somewhat tiresome Battlefield 3. That’s what counts! Even now I’m feeling an attraction to go and play TLoU again. The attraction is even beating hunger for dinner; very interesting.
Well I’m beginning to find out that your advice is well met. Had a couple of bad matches, lost supplies and had a challenge dumped on which turned out to be tricky whichever one I chose. I managed to scrape through fine though. It’s partly a matter of getting in with some decent groups though. For some reason I was put in to a match of high level guys and kept getting flamedthrower’ed or bashed with improvised melee waeapons.
I’m not sure how many maps there are, but yes, I can see it getting tiring after 12 weeks. I don’t expect the season pass will be discounted any time soon, so I might snag it and have myself a bit more variety.
I’m OK for Tuesday evening.
Incidentally if anyone reads this soon, then me and Crazy_Del are meeting up for GRID 2 tonight at 8pm. Feel free to join us.
Overall, yes, it would be great to have more TSA’ers and less bashing up people to the nigh. I like racing, not Hitman on wheels.
Yes, I’ve noticed that about the challenges. I’ve been taking the ‘down so many’ tasks for now but I’m already in week 2 and the number required is going up. I’m not sure what kind of issues I’ll encounter with survivors. At the moment the number of survivors keeps going up and I’m finding enough supplies and killing enough people so far. Thanks for the advice because I’d like to go the full 12 weeks with both factions if possible to get the platinum. I’ll try going for the tougher ones and giving myself a challenge; it makes sense.
I’d like to meet up for a few games online, although I haven’t got any DLC at the moment. This said I’m liking the game a lot, and I’m pondering on buying the season pass seeing as I got TLOU relatively free with my PS3. I’m going to look up the current DLC content today to check it out.
Yeah that’s the impression I got as well. It’s certainly different, and very refreshing multiplayer experience. I figured out the features and I reckon I’ll be playing it for a while now.
I’m half way through my work at the moment and I’d though I’d take a rest and treat myself by starting The Last of Us. It really is marvellous. I jumped in to the multiplayer too and that’s got me hooked now as well. I like how the multiplayer forces teamwork, staying into small groups to cover each others back. I only played an hour and I was already becoming a valuable player in the team. I can’t wait to jump back in to the game later on.
That’s fine. In fact I finish my last exam at 6pm on that day so it’s great. Grab some dinner, get home and boom! on to the sofa for racing.
Any time at the weekends, any time Wednesday, and Tuesday evening (8pm+). That applies from next weekend, as this week is just the Star Trek meet for me.
Yeah I’d love to continue GRID 2 as well. Consider me ready for meet ups after next week.
I’d really like to hop on the PS3 this afternoon, just to play anything really, but I’m still doing Uni work right up to next week (though the star trek meet on Thursday is still fine). I’ll be glad when I can have a mental relax and play a game, any game, all day.
I’m near getting the Killzone Platinum whilst getting through tons of Uni work. I now have 1000 kills left to do and then the Platinum will be mine. Far Cry 3 isn’t too Far away (see what I did there) though I’m gonna have to figure out getting the co-op trophies. That should bring my total up to 6 platinums which isn’t too shabby. I’m getting there…
