Crackdown 3 and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst are a couple of games I’m looking forward to.
Seb Loeb rally game and Assetto Corse on the racing side of things. I’m not getting my hopes up too much about GT Sport, as with any future GT games I’m expecting a big step up and it seems like Sport might just be a prologue. Hoping F1 2016 will be better too.
I was hoping some inconspicuous items wouldn’t sell out, but they did. That Sandtrooper headset which I wanted to get next month dropped by only £5 and has sold out :(
It seems as though a lot of the game offers are completely gone, with allocated stock already shifted. It does look like you have to be a madman battering everyone in your way at midnight to get a decent offer (and that’s just the online).
I did notice the Kindle 7″ dropped to £34.99 last night, and it’s still in stock if you’re interested.
With so many high quality 7″ tablets out there for £50, I’m not sure I can see much benefit to the Kindle e-readers aside from the more eye-friendly display.
I’m currently on the lookout for a few cheap games, although mainly on the run up to Christmas more than anything. I’d like Project cars to go for £20, along with maybe Battlefront for £30ish. Also really would like to get the Turtle Beach Sandtrooper headset as an upgrade to my P11 headset.
I doubt I’ll be buying anything on Black Friday though. Already got Forza Horizon 2 and a Driving Force Shifter through the normal offers of the week, so I’ve no other plans for now. Codemasters Humble Bundle has just popped up, so I’ll probably grab that too.
I couldn’t help myself earlier today, so I dived into a couple of hours in the game. It’s fantastic. Completely amazed at just how accessible it was, as I got to try just about a bit of everything in the 4 Walker Assault missions.
To answer your question Ron, there’s no way of playing Walker Assault offline with bots unfortunately. I have tried the single player content though, and in my opinion it’s pretty damn good. The battles mode is a kill confirmed style death match that can be played regular or as a hero on each planet. I tried the different difficulties and the AI are very good, there’s good flow, and because the five star achievements are so hard to get, there’s lots of challenge and a feeling of the old Battlefronts to it. Trying out survival that was pretty decent too. Overall impression of the game, fantastic. I’m not hesitant about buying it, I think I’ll get more than my fair share of fun out of it.

Yep, all the way. Although a lot of people are saying that Battlefront is a bit shallow in gameplay and it’s a little lacking in content, I can’t help but be super excited for it because it’s Star Wars and Star Wars done right. I’m so tempted to play the ten hours I get on EA access, but I fear that if I do it will be like opening a Christmas surprise early and spoiling everything. I mean if I want to play beyond the ten hours that’s it, I have to wait to buy the game (can’t quite afford it yet) and when I do, it will have that ruined surprise feeling if I play that 10 hours. I’m thinking maybe forget the ten hours access, and get the game on some sort of offer just before Christmas and play it all new and fresh.
As for the film it’s foremost on my radar. I can’t wait for it. Hoping to get some Star Wars goodies at Christmas, plus I’ve got an awesome calendar on the way and I’ve been eyeing up a fantastic sandtrooper headset on GAME which would serve as a great upgrade to my current headset.
By the way, Congratulations on the arrival of the twins!
I’ve given up on GAME trade-in prices. Only a handful of stores will offer to use a tablet to price match if you request, and more often than not CEX give better cash trade-in prices anyway, and they aren’t so fussy with the IDs and membership. At least you got a mostly decent return. Means the game only cost you £15-25?
I can’t see any logic to it. Sure it’s like an MMO environment where you meet other players, but I’m not that fussed about it and I don’t see why we can’t have Burnout Paradise’s way of doing things where you can flick between offline and online in an instant.
It’s a shame there’s all those problems with the game. I’ll be trying it out later today to see how good it is. I doubt it’ll be worth buying for me unless there’s some hidden gems in there. I was hoping this would be the Need for Speed, a refreshing reboot, but I’m not hearing many praises.04/11/15 at 12:50 in reply to: Shameless self promotion… your PS4 and XBox One shared videos #255662
A couple of short Battlefield 4 videos, one of them with a lovely heli kill, the other with a good enough kill streak. I’m enjoying the manually guided missile launchers a bit too much.10/10/15 at 11:43 in reply to: Shameless self promotion… your PS4 and XBox One shared videos #254108
Just one more video lol as I’m starting to enjoy Battlefront a bit more. This was from last night where I managed to deal the last crushing blow to an AT-AT with a Ion Grenade, Luke Skywalker style. There was a couple of oddities though. Namely both AT-ATs were showed as destroyed in the leaderboard background at the end, yet we were defeated. Also I apparently got caught in my own Ion Grenade blast and got killed, despite being a significant distance away.09/10/15 at 17:06 in reply to: Shameless self promotion… your PS4 and XBox One shared videos #254077
One more Battlefront video which shows me having a much better run of the game. Killed some screwball campers, some douches on ridiculous killing sprees, and gained a nice killstreak myself. A lovely AT-ST kill too just past the 3 minute mark.09/10/15 at 12:27 in reply to: Shameless self promotion… your PS4 and XBox One shared videos #254067
You beat me to it Ron. A quick five minute video of me shooting up some stuff on the beta too, although I went old school with third person view. it was a random capture, so not too much going on.
Also A quick snippet of me driving the new Mazda MX-5 2016 in FM6, and unfortunately toppling it at Road America in free practice.
Surround sound is lovely, with ships and blaster fire whizzing past you. It’s safe to say they’ve nailed the presentation.
I thought the same thing about the unlocks too. I really hope there will be more variety, because atm sniper rifles and missile launchers are relegated to ‘cards’ and with only having 2 slots available it gets a little dull.
The one lovely thing they have done is in regards to the vehicles/heroes. There’s no need to wait for vehicle spawns or killstreaks. Basically there are little holograms spread over in friendly territory. Collect one, and it will give u a vehicle or hero to use. Everything seems health based so u can use it as much as you want, aside from the AT-AT which gives a minute or two riding shotgun. Quite good really, because it can give u a better chance of having a go with a vehicle. The holograms change location as the battlefront moves forward I think, so there’s minimal chance some douche will spam use a vehicle. I managed to try a couple vehicles and they were fun to use. Fun to takedown too :p
Cheers mate, awesome gamertag you have too. I just stuck more r’s on my name until it worked lol. Hoping to get Gears soon, never played it before and interested to try it along with the other Gears games when they release with backward compatibility.
@Blast71 no problem, I’ll be around wednesday night but I could well be on the Xbox most of the night. If you can drop a message on PSN with a time, I’ll know when to flick the PS3 on :) otherwise it’s pot luck me being online the same time as you. Also I can’t see PS4 users on the PS3, which doesn’t help much.
