Thanks Stephan, I forgot all about that but it works fantastically, just spent more money I don’t have on Mass Effect 3! The Vita page on the January Sales either doesn’t like my phone or isn’t working, it only shows 3 offers when there’s still a couple of dozen visible through the Vita.

Cron, any luck loading them all yet?

Same for me with the lists in the store, although they did load eventually so I assumed it was my shit Internet. The top few on the offers page loaded instantly and I think the bottom one that appears is Wall-E for the PSP. I selected that then the scrollable list that appears on the left seemed to load the next title, which I selected and a few seconds later the next one appeared. It’s achingly slow but by loading each one that way I managed to check all the January offers. Hope that helps!

Thanks for that mate that’s awesome, I’ve just ordered mine! The Sky router is so sooo useless,I’ve only got a tiny flat and my airplay speakers are still always dropping out, hopefully this helps.

Spooner, gazza’s tip seems to be the best, the 16GB card alone is worth £25-£30 and if its the games bundle with Wipeout and LBP then it’s a great deal. Cheapest I could find is on Zavvi for £137, I’ve got a 10% off code which might be linked to my account but you’re welcome to try…

Glad it’s bringing you plenty of joy! And it’s not my old one anymore, you’ve definitely had it longer mate! I’ve just got a 2000 from Japan, it feels amazingly thin and apart from the awkward X and O button swap its wonderful. I’ll post some pictures here when I can, I love it, which is just as well as I’ve spent way too much on the offers and now a new memory card hah.

BRY, have you seen all the offers on the UK PSN Vita store January Sales? Might be worth investing a few quid if they’re as good deals over there as they seem over here!

No games for me, although I did but Need For Speed for cheap on my new Vita. I got a Fergbuger t-shirt all the way from New Zealand, anfairly awesome vintage clock and new 10mm lense for my camera. Every photo today is on max aperture with stacks of depth of field… I’m so common :)

Thats sounds great mate, I really liked the bits around 1:00 and 3:10, looking forwards to the EP! I’ll record your set on Radio Reverb if I can find it on TuneIn, if they’re kind enough to give you a recording it’d be great if you could post it here. Are you gonna do some gigs?

I’ve had a really busy couple of weeks, finally finished for Christmas yesterday about two hours before my friend Yuki from Tokyo pitched up to visit! Had an awesome day and the most ridiculously big and tasty T-bone steak last night after introducing him to ale. More interestingly for you guys, Yuki was kind enough to bring me a new Vita 2000.

I’ve been playing Thomas Was Alone and Wipeout 2048 this afternoon, so far so good. The new LCD screen is excellent, I haven’t got an original Vita anymore so I can’t make a comparison but I’m really pleased with how vivid and sharp this one looks! Its easily as good as my girlfriends iPad Mini, the only noticable difference are the darks and blacks which aren’t as deep, the original OLED is definitely better in that respect. The new weight, thickness and grippy back feel great, I’m finding it much easier to hold than the original. The build quality feels excellent too, the front is similar to the PSP 2000 and 3000 except with no squeaky or loose parts, its a thin and solid. The only downsides so far are that its the worst dust magnet I’ve ever come across, ten times worse than the launch PS3, and the X and O buttons are the Japanese way around during menu navigation. Both forgivable quirks I suppose :)

That was amazing! Especially the bit when the trophy popped.

I was tempted to agree with Avengerr’s choice Mirrors Edge, but then I got thinking about some earlier PS3 games. I settled on the original Motorstorm, which had the occasional photorealistic moment and generally looked beautiful! I reckon with some new lighting, extra particles and polygons, super sharp textures and Journey’s impressively rendered sand it could approach photorealism all of the time. In a nutshell, photorealism is what I want from this generation :)

Gazza, only 9 hours left to fiddle with the fantasy F1, it’s gonna be nail bitingly close between us I reckon!

Yeah, I reckon ditch the Game Threads but keep the Meets forum, does that seem alright to everyone else?
Also, the Gaming News forum seemed very underused over the last couple of years. It seems like us plebs get hold of very little before you genuine game journos! Maybe that forum could be ditched too? I think since this summer the forums became very quiet, presumably new forums can be created any time but for now concentrating everyone’s attention in just a few places might make them look more lively.

    Thrush?

I’m gonna sneak more of my opinions in before the forums start up again. I think using the old structure of ‘Gaming Banter’ and ‘General Chat’ would be good, unlike some other forums it always seemed fairly obvious where to start a topic. Maybe instead of seperate blu-ray/PSN games trophy and discussion areas we could have one trophy forum and one meet forum, then leave any other game discussions to happen in the Gaming Banter area. I never used the the specific game forums, only had the occasional peek, so maybe I’m not in the best position to suggest that, but I always got the impression that meets got discussed in there and the more regularly viewed Gaming Banter got used for showing off, tips and last minute meets i.e. ‘Anyone fancy Burnout tonight’?

Within General Chat it might be nice to pin a Birthdays thread that we can start to add to straight away. It might not mean the same to everyone but to me it gave a great impression straight away and said good things about the community. Same goes for Gaming Banter and the Cheap Games and Great Deals thread.

One last thing Peter, your ‘Cb’ gravatar above, immediately below the text ‘This topic contains 10 replies, has 9 voices, and was last updated by…’ appears to be huge, maybe 800 pixels big? I’m on my laptop now using Firefox and a zooming add-on but nothing else seems to be affected.

If anyone wants to send me some text from the old forums to sift through I’ll be happy to help too! I’m clueless when it comes to web design but I can do boring, time consuming stuff like getting trophy descriptions out of html and pasting it into word files, if that would help :)

    Edit: edit works, wohoo!

Well I’m very happy so far, as the old forums got updated over the years my 3GS started throwing wobblies, especially with the auto correct function and picture inserting. This new one seems much quicker to load and very fast to respond to zooming, typing and scrolling.

I agree with BRY, the trophy lists would be great to have back, however bearing in mind the thoroughness of other sites trophy guides like ps3trophies I think we could just start again with similar threads to what we had before but only with new content.

Lastly, muchos gracias for looking after us and our info. It certainly sounds like the old forum was an arse to manage, so a fresh start seems like a great idea and is well justified.
