@Del – no problem fella, am looking forward to playing something with you again, it’s been a while! Think the first game we ever did co-op together was Rage…around Oct 2011!
@ron – nice one mate, I thought it was a fabulous game. Not perfect, due to some dodgy and frustrating camera work at times – but as you say Trico is so impressive at times, and the first few cut-scenes with his movement were quite spectacular. I rarely get those “wow” moments these days in games (hard to please perhaps as I’ve been gaming for 20+ years), but those scenes were something. A bit like the train climbing bit in Uncharted 2 – some moments like that will always stick out. The platinum is nice to have for sure, but it does ruin the game somewhat – as you may find – as the voice prompts are just annoying and Trico on the speedrun can be a twat, put simply.
I’m tempted to go for the Shadow of the Colossus platinum as I have TLG and Ico, but may leave it for a while.
That’s ok mate, we can both practise SP then hit-up some co-op/MP when you’re back online! :D
Nice going on RE7 Del, I’m yet to start it yet!!
And you Dan, good to hear the challenges weren’t too tough – I was tempted to pick it up in the sale recently for £11 but decided I already have enough games to get through.
Before I start Uncharted 4 I wanted to get through a bunch of PSN games that had been building up – most are quite short too so it feels like I’m getting through the backlog a bit:
Lara Croft GO – just the final DLC to do (will hopefully get it done tonight)
Game of Thrones (Telltale) – just one chapter to playthrough
Machinarium – about half way through
Duke Nukem 3D
Chances are I won’t start Uncharted 4 as once these are done Sniper Elite 4 will be out and that has MP trophies so I’ll want to get those done and out the way.
@freeze – DiRT Rally was my hardest platinum’s I’ve had in a long time. The flawless runs you have to achieve on the higher difficulty settings are ridiculous and they stop being fun very quickly. Restart, restart, restart….and when you crash near to the finish line it’s SO frustrating!!!! Yeah my pile-o-shame has some good games in it for sure. I fear my backlog would easily run into triple figures with PS3, Vita and PSN games I’ve bought! :/
Check out the almost daily forum activity – go us! ;)
Good luck with F1 Dan! I’d recommend The Order next – it’s shorter than RotTR which will allow you to move on to it a bit quicker. I thought The Order was brilliant, although I know some people thought it lacked value. RotTR on the other hand has lots of modes and DLC so can take a while. Tef and I did a lot of Endurance Co-op which is a lot of fun!
My arm could be twisted with doing Ratchet and Clank soon, although I think I owe it to myself to actually start Uncharted 4!! Otherwise, once a game sits in the pile-o-shame for too long, it is forever overlooked!
I painfully restored my 100% trophies on Goat Simulator last night. Now to finish Game of Thrones for platinum #115.
Well done mate – there is a massive thread about that trophy on PlayStationTrophies.org – everyone miffed as all the other trophies are easy and pretty fun or amusing! That one was definitely a stinker. I’m currently working on the latest (PayDay) DLC actually – there have been Zombie and MMO DLCs already too and there is another “Space” DLC coming.
Yeah, I try and plan – having done a few long games since October, I want to work through a few short and PSN games to knock a few games off the pile-o-shame!
Cheers freeze, for The Last Guardian platinum last night! :)
For the rest of January I intend to go back and 100% Rise of the Tomb Raider, Goat Simulator, Game of Thrones and platinum Lara Croft GO. That’ll be a further 4 games ticked off the list. Then I’ll focus on restoring 100% for The Division, and probably start either Gravity Rush 2 or Resident Evil 7!
I have Ratchet & Clank and have played it a lot with my son on his profile, but haven’t managed to play it through myself yet. It’s on the “To Do” list though!
Actually Ron, what you could do is print a list of the Hints (they are the worth thing about the plat) and tick off all the ones you get from playing naturally…then at least you’d save a lot of time if you were to do a playthrough to mop up the rest. The trouble for me was that I had to get all of them as I didn’t know which ones I’d already got naturally! :( Knowing that would have saved me a lot of time.
Furthermore, why is a trophy awarded for people who need so many Hints along the way – silly if you ask me!
It’s a very good game and has some truly amazing moments, but the camera and Trico’s obedience (lack of) can be causes of short periods of mass frustration.
@freeze – I know mate, not sure where the time has gone! I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Gatling Gears – decent game that! :)
@ron – TLG trophy list is a bit of a pain….5-hour speed run, no deaths run (those 2 can be combined), and some rather annoying collectables. One set are of Hints, which you have to hang around idling for between 5-10 minutes to get some to trigger….and there are 95 of them! Some trigger easily to be fair though – definitely one for a YouTube guide though. Fortunately, all the collectables do carry over on multiple playthroughs. I did one playthrough first just to enjoy the game, then have since done once for the speedrun and a third for collectables/no deaths/misc combat trophies. The danger is that there is no chapter select even after completion, so if you miss anything you have to start an entirely new playthrough. Definitely use USB and/or the PS+ Cloud to back up some save files!! ;)
@Del – nice going mate, you’re a trophy monster!!! Well played, sir.
Nice going Del!
Nowhere near that kind of milestone, but I’m approaching 7,000 trophies. With a little bit of manipulation I’m hoping to make The Last Guardian platinum (my 114th platinum) my 7,000th trophy! :)
After that I have a few 100%s to restore – Rise of the Tomb Raider, Goat Simulator and The Division.
I may throw in Game of Thrones (Telltale) and Duke Nukem 3D 20th Anniversary Edition to the mix, so I’m also playing some new stuff too! The latter is apparently a 1/10 plat difficulty and can take as little as 30mins-2 hours to platinum since you can use cheats (God Mode, level select). However, I plan to do it properly since it’ll be nostalgic and would be a waste of money buying it otherwise!!
Similar things happened to my brother in law. He made a payment through PayPal for Fifa Ultimate Team coins and something went wrong mid-transaction. He was charged by PayPal but didn’t receive the PSN credit to buy the FIFA coins. Therefore he claimed the refund through PayPal and suddenly got his PSN account banned. Slightly different as he didn’t have the PSN funds in the first place so there shouldn’t have been a debt with PSN/Sony for them to make a ban, however I guess there’s something “in the system” that auto-triggers a ban when there is a refund claimed through PayPal – possible as Sony will assume that gives them a debt or there’s suspicious activity on the account. I’ll just avoid using PayPal in future, just to be safe!
Glad you got it sorted btw! :)
A couple more, although suspect the second one will certainly be beaten:
FIFA 17 (PS4) – 26/10/16 @ 20:07
Virginia (PS4) – 29/10/16 @ 12:07
Are the fastest leaderboards still updated btw?

Yesterday I restored 100% trophies to Rocket League, following the latest DLC/update.
I also played and platinumed (#109 – I think) The Bunker. I sort of liked it, and thought it was rubbish at the same time. The acting and story were pretty good, I’m just not sure it transferred into a game very well. The game did a good job of telling you what you needed to do next, but it wasn’t always easy to know where to go due to the lack of signs or indicators. Thought both endings were a bit poor – possibly as there will be The Bunker II: Re-bunk, or something.
Now it’s back to FIFA, FIFA, FIFA….17.
Got the Black Ops 3 platinum on Tuesday, plat #108. What a total shit that was, 650 kills with each weapon in single player, making over 17,500 single player kills. You even had to do 150 kills per pistol and 300 for some launchers – including a vehicle lock-on only one ffs!! So I probably racked up mover than 20,000 kills once you include the multiplayer and zombie trophies!
Restored 100% trophies to Firewatch last night, following the release of the Audio Tour mode.
Probably going to play a bit of PvZ Garden Warfare 2 tonight with my boys, then some more Underground DLC in The Division with McProley once the kids are in bed.
Then over the weekend I’ll try and restore 100% trophies in Rocket League, following Tuesday’s patch and new trophies. Then it’s back to FIFA 17!!
I hardly have time for my PS4 games these days, let alone PC games – but it’s nice to know I have the gadget and that it works now!
Think the only PC games I have are the point-and-click Commandos games (very old!), Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, Kentucky Route Zero, Metro 2033 and Deadlight (the last 2 which eventually got released on PS4 anyway)!!
I might be tempted to buy the original Dead Space on PC as I suspect the graphics will be far better than the PS3 version and it’s a bloody good game. Would like to play that again!
