PS3 Gains Market Share

Whilst it’s true that the PS3 didn’t sell as many machines as the 360 or the Wii last month in America, the market controlled by the latest PlayStation jumped from 12% in October to 21% based on the latest NPD (US hardware sales) results, whilst Wii’s share fell 8% to 44%. “The combination of the price cut and seasonal lift gave the PS3 the biggest October-to-November sales increase of any hardware platform,” said Anita Frazier, an analyst at NPD. In Japan the PS3 outsold the Wii during last month, and here in Europe the machine is regularly outselling the 360.
