Well, there you go. That was Thursday. Where did the update go, nobody knows – all we know is that the official press release issued clearly stated that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue would be up on the PSN Store for Europeans on the 27th of March. It can’t be last minute teething issues because the Blu-ray version is out and running fine, so either somebody forgot to press upload, or, well, we don’t know what else could have happened, but we have some ideas:
Firstly, they could be concerned that the additional patch download isn’t great, so are trying to push a pre-patched version through QA, regardless of the fact that the disk version still has this ‘problem’. There’s also the fact that sales are measured from Friday to Friday – maybe downloads will count toward this week’s figures in some way? We rang one major retailer late yesterday who said they’d not had any disk copies in at all and might have complained to Sony, who might have then decided to delay the download to compensate.
Whichever way, vent your anger in the comments – the best and most angry comment will win some kind of prize. And no ‘Your Site Is Shite’ comments please – we know!
Update: we’re being told that the PSN version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue might not now show up on the store until Saturday. And possibly later…
Update 2: apparently we’re supposed to let PSN drive away our troubles. Note to Sony: the content isn’t there. It’s not. GT 5 Prologue? No. Euro 2008 demo? No. EoJ and Unreal Tournament 3 packs? No. That’s OK though, whenever you’re ready.
Update 3: looks like last minute technical issues according to the official EU forums: We’d like to apologise for the lack of a PS Store refresh yesterday. Unfortunately we experienced some last minute technical difficulties and were unable to publish the new content as planned. We are working hard to resolve these issues and content will be refreshed as soon as possible..
Update 4: we’re good to go. The PSN Store update is now live, and that includes Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. =) Read on for the full contents of the update.
