According to Develop Mag Sega’s Racing Studio has been closed after just one game, the wicked Sega Rally Revo, which despite positive reviews managed poor sales. The site says the studio was founded in 2005 to help Sega establish a racing game team that drew on the UK development sector’s heritage in the genre. Former Codemasters man Guy Wilday was picked to run the studio which in time grew to include over 60 staff working on multiple projects, including the Rally remake and purported new racing IP.
We wish all the staff at Sega Racing Studios the best of luck – there’s plenty of other racing studios around the country and we hope they can find work at other developers.
