MS & Acti Sign First On 360 DLC Deal

Announced at the start of the Microsoft keynote, all Call of Duty titles’ DLC will be released first on 360 in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

The three year deal seems to only focus on the popular war series, signalling just how lucrative Microsoft expect the franchise to remain in the coming years.

It’s hardly a surprising agreement considering how current Call of Duty mega-hit Modern Warfare 2’s DLC was released as a timed exclusive on Microsoft’s console, but it’s interesting nonetheless that this trend will continue with Call of Duty: Black Ops and upcoming unannounced CoD titles in the near future.

  1. This would have been a bigger announcement 12 months ago, it just seems to have lost something as a big announcement with all that’s gone on with CoD recently. Sony just need to announce timed exclusive content for the next Bungie game to counter this.

  2. Not surprised at all. MS and Acti have the same morales, ethics and vision when it comes to the gaming industry.

Makes complete sense. The only under current would be MS wanting to solidfy their association with the FPS franchise and their rebranding if you will.

I must add though, I cant see fans of the game ditching their ps3 or investing in a 360 for this, they’ll just wait.

Sony is gonna have a serious parry of a show tomorrow.

All they need to do is drop a solid GT5 release date, mention the official MGS5 as a PS3 exclusive whilst danging SC and ME.

Ha ha ha – that would constitute as a head shot from a 1000 paces in a blizzard without a scope, arm, of eyes!
