Introducing AppTilt

TheSixthAxis is proud to introduce AppTilt, a brand new microsite that will sit under the TSA umbrella.  We’ve trialled coverage of iPhone and iPad reviews in the past with our hardware reviews and our popular weekly Slide to Unlock game reviews, but AppTilt represents an alternative angle on what we normally do here at TSA Towers.

Rather than attempting to cover all the important stories of the day and striving to review every game we can get our hands on like the team does at TheSixthAxis, AppTilt is something of a diversion, a far more relaxed approach to gaming where we’ll review games with a somewhat lighter attitude and one less regulated by embargoes and deadlines.

So, if you’re into your iPhone and iPad games, all we can ask is that you have a look and if you like what you seen, bookmark the site (and maybe drop the AppTilt Twitter feed a follow, too).

  1. Cool site, shame i dont have an iPhone :(

  2. Looking good – I’ll definitely use this as I am always on the look out for new apps to fill my iPod with.

  3. Looks good and would be a neat idea for minis too..

  4. Just signed up, looks brilliant nofi!

  5. I’m waiting for my HTC Desire in the mail, we must have some Android coverage :)

    • I’ve had my Desire about a month. It’s brilliant. Have to keep an eye on the iOS 4 vs. Android count among the staff.

      • I have the true underdog, webOS.

      • Interesting,

WebOS will probably only have a future on HP devices, maybe printers or even tablets as a iOS4 rival, as it’s pretty clear full OS’s like Win7/Ubuntu… and maybe even ChromeOS are rubbish on touch devices.

As for Android, it’s dreadfully fractured and awfully confusing for the mainstream, and Android 3.0 looks to fragment the base further still.

The current install base has devices supporting everything from 1.6 to the latest 2.2 and everything in between, not to mention all the manufacturer customised varients.

Google are great at making stuff for the informed minority, but beyond that – everything but Search is a flop as far as the mainstream is concerned. Even the awesome Gmail.

Symbian is all but dead & MeeGo looks better suited to Netbook’s than smart phones

      • So you own an iPhone then cc_star :P

Unfortunately I can’t use one as I’m in that 10% most intelligent of the population who is left-handed, although if I’m honest Apple ruled out intelligent people from using their phones years ago :P

        (It’s a joke)

  6. Site looks really good, nice design. I’ll definitely be a regular visitor.

  7. Site looks really good! Very professional whoever did it.

Oh is this TSA2 then? Im not going mad if I say that you were creating another site under TSA?

    Very good :)

  8. Great news, guys. Just chilling out on the sofa so will have a proper look at the new site when I’m back on the work PC. Lovely name for the site too.

I’ll be visiting regularly hopefully. Just a bit pee’d off with iPhone4 and it’s lack of call quality. Stopping me getting one to be fair.

    • I hope you haven’t heard Apple’s latest response then…

      • Their response is a joke. However, after speaking with a mate (yesterday) who had the new iPhone, I remarked on him sounding decidedly “digital” and that I was having to commit effort to listening to him. Not just enjoying the conversation. Frustratingly, we’ve always had crystal clear chats and another friend of his as commented on the quality. Regardless of signal, it seems that things have been compromised. For me, the jury is most definitely out.

  9. good stuff TSA.
