News today via the recent Activision financial results call is that the next entry in the Tony Hawk skateboarding franchise, Shred, will also feature snowboarding.
The upcoming game will also support the same skateboard peripheral as last year’s critical failure Tony Hawk: Ride but, tellingly, won’t require it. Following the release of an overwhelmingly negative reaction to Ride, Activision’s Mike Griffith mentioned that the game suffered because “it took longer to optimise the hardware, leaving less time to optimise the software”, so here’s hoping the team can really improve on the game this time round.
So whilst Shaun White is turning his hand to skateboarding this year, Tony Hawk is taking up snowboarding – quite the switcheroo. Tony Hawk: Shred is being developed by Robomodo, published by Activision and is scheduled for a release later this year.

Can’t wait to use my Tony Hawk’s Ride on this game…
Oh wait, I just remembered, I have sense and didn’t waste my money on one of those ridiculous things…anyone who did needs a brain check I think.

My goodness I can’t wait to slam this game in a rant without even having played it. Cynical much? Me? :D

snow boarding wouldnt be so bad with the tony hawk board if you could strap it to your feet.. i think it would work better with a snowboarding game then skateboarding
