At this point in time, Forza 3 is possibly the best traditional racing game available on a home console. Its combination of sharp graphics, good number of cars and solid online mode has meant it has been sitting pretty at the top of the pile. Unfortunately for Forza though, a challenger is coming in November – you may have heard of Gran Turismo 5.
The Australian ratings board has seemingly outed an ‘Ultimate Collection’ version of Forza 3. If we were to guess we would say it would be the main game plus a whole load of DLC – possibly in a pretty tin. Would it be enough to take the sting out of Gran Turismo’s tail?

Picked up the Ltd edition of Forza 3 last month from shopto. Loads of bonus content, keyring (yay?) and USB stick all in a nice box for less than £20. Can’t check at the mo if this is still available, but this new “ultimate” edition will have to go a long way to beat that for value

Looks like it’s no longer listed on their website, sorry.

Am I the only one that thinks GT4 is still the best console racing game to date? It has stacks more to do than Forza 3.

I am with you, and it works on my launch-day PS3. I still play it occasionally and it’s the only PS2 game I still have.

with only 8 players……NO.
forza can forget matching the premium cars in GT5, id be surprised if they can beat the standard ones.
gran turismo MIGHT not beat forza’s customisation but in terms of driving experience and car models, nothing will come close to it until GT6.

Or Forza 4

This will just take the wind out of GT5’s impact on the market more than anything.
Microsoft KNOW 360 gamers are gonna be depressed when they see GT5, so they’ll just release the new Forza Collection for them to buy instead.
Genius!

The Ultimate box better be good. The LCE of Forza 3 has an awesome box, one of my favourite by far.

Have you even SEEN the Signature Edition GT5?
MornelitheVT
No kidding, right? That has to be the craziest Collectors Edition game I’ve ever seen.

For me and my household, Forza doesn’t have a chance. My roommate still prefers playing Burnout:Revenge on his 360, over Forza anything. And he’s salivating at the mouth to get his hands on GT5, almost as much as I am (considering I bought a launch PS3, just for GT5).

Yeah, so… I eventually did play the full game of this when my nephew got it for his birthday at the start of the year, and it seems my experiences with the demo that I was assured were so “wrong” were actually spot on, Forza 3 was boring as sin.
Whether it’s the “best” racing SIM over GT5 or not I couldn’t care as both series just seem pretty far up their own backsides to me, but what I’m sure of is that this is pretty damn far from being anywhere near the best racing game I’ve ever played. But then that could just be me… I like my racing games to be fun.
