First ‘Catherine’ Gameplay Footage

Atlus has released the first gameplay footage of its platform/puzzle game ‘Catherine’, and it’s certainly looking bizarre!  From watching the trailer it’s clear to see that the team behind the ‘Persona’ games are involved, and I’m actually now a little bit afraid of sheep…

  2. Wow…I’ve always been a bit intrigued by this game’s story and cutscenes, since all previous trailers have had great style and whatnot. But the gameplay isn’t what I expected it to be. Mixed feelings right now :/

  3. So this is a erotic game involving demons, sheep, sheep people, puzzles and a woman that sucks men into this dream world with her mouth.

    well im a tad more interested in what its rating will be rather then how fun the game could be.

    So does this class as a Hentai/ecchi game then ? I have no doubt in my mind that this will never hit our shores, you’ll need an eBay account and a translator if you ever want to play this.

      I personally see no reason for this game to get banned, if that’s what you’re implying… Really want to play this! :P

      • The big surprise is that the game is rated CERO C, which is the Japanese equivalent of ESRB T or PEGI 15

      • It won’t get banned, it like many, many Japanese titles will never make it across to the UK.

      • Knowing Atlus, if it does get popular, it’ll probably see a release in the US then EU

      • I both hope and believe it will infact be released in Europe at some point, they’ve hinted at it.

    • i really dont think it would qualify as a hentai game. hentai is pretty much just porn, and i doubt there will anything in catherine we havent seen in, say heavy rain for example…
      also i think it will get a us/eu release, they are doing pretty good with that recently

      • “dogs caught worrying sheep will be shot” so the really canny dogs just leave jars of mint sauce near sleeping sheep and sneak off.

  7. This is why you shouldn’t do drugs and then design games.

    First it was just strange (noby noby boy) then when the trip was over the angst and dark moods set in (limbo) now it looks like they’re on a really bad trip.

  8. In my opinion, the game kinda looks like a sexed-up version of Nightmare On Elm Street.

  9. Just plain weird! The Japanese are a strange lot but they make cracking games. Although I think the title is a little lost in translation … Catherine? What next? A darkly Gothic tale of blood and betrayal called …. Nigel*

  10. Wow, the japs are a crazy bunch of fellows. did anyone notice the weapon of choice for the protagonist…a pillow, (i think its was anyway, so hardcore!!
