Daytona USA Heading to PSN/LIVE

SEGA has announced that the 1993 classic racer, Daytona USA, is heading to PSN and LIVE.

Rather than a straight port, it will feature overhauled graphics, online multiplayer and support for the Logitech GT Driving Force steering wheel controller on PS3, and all Xbox 360 steering wheel controllers.

The game will be available on October 26th for XBLA (800 Microsoft Points) in North America and Europe and October 25th for PSN ($9.99) in North America. Daytona will release on PSN late November in Europe.

  3. Can’t wait for this….daytona usa is my all time fave racing game. I still play it on the saturn and dreamcast BUT why is it that PSN Europe always gets game releases after everyone else? it’s just not right! Iv’e just had a simular experience with ico/shadow HD collection redeem code, first, europe has had to wait over 10 days after the release of the game before we could download the extra stuff, only to find that the PS3 theme’s were a bit rubbish and that we only get 2 “making of” video’s instead of the 5 that japan and the US got. It seems that we in europe, keep getting short changed…..when will it stop?

Iv’e uploaded a video of Daytona USA arcade rom running on my PC M2v1.0 Emulator, running at 60fps with upgraded textures that i have replaced myself to give the game a more fresh higher res look. You can replace the in game tiles at any resolution and with any coloured tile or picture…worth a look, i hope that the ps3 version is at least as good as this is.

  6. Excellent stuff! Daytona, an ol’ skool classic arcade racer. I recall playing Daytona in Florida with the locals thinking ‘what’s a Brit doing playing stock car racing?!?’ They were very bemused! Anyway, it be great to play in HD and online. I hope SEGA bring back their iteration of Le Man 24hrs, too. That was awesome!
