Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Soundtrack Revealed

Part of what made the original Tony Hawk such a great game was the powerful soundtrack, emulated and copied by other ‘extreme’ sports titles back in the day but never bettered.

Well, via Sound And Vision Magazine, the soundtrack for the HD remake has been revealed, and it looks like Activision have managed to grab seven of the original records, which is not bad at all.

Here’s the tracks from the original game:

  • “Bring the Noise” Anthrax featuring Chuck D
  • “Superman” Goldfinger
  • “When Worlds Collide” Powerman 5000
  • “Heavy Metal Winner” Consumed
  • “May 16” Lagwagon
  • “No Cigar” Millencolin
  • “You” Bad Religion

And here’s some new music chosen especially:

  • “The Bomb” Pigeon John
  • “We the People” Lateef the Truthspeaker
  • “Marathon Mansion!” Pegasuses-XL
  • “Teenage Blood” Apex Manor
  • “Please Ask for Help” Telekinesis
  • “Flyentology (Cassettes Won’t Listen Remix)” El-P featuring Trent Reznor
  • “USA” Middle Class Rut

“We definitely wanted to bring back some of the songs from the original soundtrack,” said Ken Overbey, producer/project manager, “but wanted new songs as well.”

“The most difficulty we had was our budget, which was very small, and the scope and time frame; it was a lot of work to get it all lined up and get the songs in.”

The team confirmed that the game will be available for both PS3 and Xbox 360.
