News Snatch: Crash Bandicoot, Drake Back In Uncharted And The Xbox One Launch Party

Back once again it’s the Renegade Master, D for damager with the ill behaviour! Oh alright, it is not the Renegade Master, just me again with a round up the bits of news that fell behind the TSA fridge. Actually it’s a damn good one today, light on the trailers and packed full of weird and exciting stuff, beginning with a technically sexy but rather dull next-gen lighting trailer for Dying Light.

Crash Bandicoot has been listed for PlayStation 4 by Amazon France, but closer inspection reveals the box art is fan made so this is probably an overzealous Amazonian reading all the rumours about Crash from last week and making up a listing.

London’s Leicester Square will host an Xbox One launch party tonight from 7pm till 9pm with special performances from Sway, Plan B, Katy B and erm, The Stig from Top Gear.

I saw the giant Xbox sphere being constructed when I wandered past on Monday and thought it was a snowball, but look at now, snazzy!

Shame it’s going to be about minus a billionty-twelve tonight, think I’ll stay in the warm.

Work has will restart on the free-to-play reboot of Command & Conquer at some point: “We would like to thank you for your time and interest in Command & Conquer, and we look forward to sharing the news with you when production resumes on this title in the future,” said EA.

A trailer for the Need for Speed movie in which Aaron Paul has a wonky head and tries his very best to stop his bonce from leaning to the left.

Spelunky has been updated on the PS Vita and PS3 and will now include daily challenges. The patch also fixes a number of bugs including one that was preventing specific Trophies from being earned.

tornado

A man who lost his home during the recent tornadoes in America was rather pleased to find his PlayStation 4 had survived the devastation. Sony are said to be reconsidering their marketing tactics to include the tag line “PS4, it’s bastard hard!”

Speedball 2 HD is coming to the PC although it’s not the shiny smooth HD remake we are used to. Annoyingly it still does not include online multiplayer, just local.

Filthmongers rejoice, a certain mucky video site has been configured so it works in the PlayStation 4 browser. The site, which I will not name as it may set off alarms and alerts if you are reading this at work, has name that sounds a bit like Quorn Rub. Yeah, that one. “Why buy a PS4 for gaming when you can buy one for fapping!” says a rather NSFW tweet.

Square Enix have trademarked Lara Croft: Reflections which sounds more like a perfume rather than a game. “Reflections, the new scent by Lara Croft. For the lady who has everything.” – see, it works doesn’t it?

As for the sequel to this years Lara reboot, “The Tomb Raider sequel is the next chapter of Lara’s development… her life is changing. She can’t go back to the way she was,” said Crystal Dynamics Senior Art Director Brian Horton.

Did you know there are all sorts of Velocity goodies available, including t-shirts, 2014 calenders, posters and the soundtrack? I hear the thats very good, full of tippety-top tunes. You can get them all from the Futurlab shop.

“We would like to share some important news with you,” is the message posted on the Russian PlayStation Facebook page. “The first trailer of Uncharted on PS4 has been released! Where do you think Nathan Drake’s fate will take him this time?”

Looks like Nathan and pals will be back then, though there’s no telling whether this is an official page or not.

And finally, a launch trailer for AquaPazza.

  1. Need for Speed, BITCH!

  2. Was the Quorn/meat pun intended? :-o

If so, a cookie for me!

  3. Don’t know what’s going on but the videos on the site these past few days are having issues on my Nexus 7,the sound is really stuttery sometimes crackly and video has odd issues,it seems fine with other things like when viewing the YouTube videos on YouTube itself.

    • All fine here on the iPhone 5 and also my desktop PCs. Weird. :-\

      • ill figure something out maybe cache clear out or router reboot ;)

    • As you mention it, i’ve been having some issues with the PS3 youtube app this past week, videos just stopping halfway through and i have to restart them then fast forward to view the rest.
Also someone mentioned to me that youtube crashed or went down a few nights ago, whether that’s connected or not i don’t know though.

      • YouTube on my PS3 is stopping roughly about halfway through vids as well. Only started happening in the last week or so

  4. Ice cream! Ice cream!

  5. “”Shame it’s going to be about minus a billionty-twelve tonight, think I’ll stay in the warm.””

This absolutely cracked me up!! Thanks for giving me a giggle :0)

And im playing football tonight in the cold :0 (

  6. Not quite as keen as I was on the NFS movie after seeing that trailer, makes it look pretty boring except for some good car chases.

  7. I’m calling bs on that ps4 tornado story. No damage to the box at all & why would you be that happy if your entire house was destroyed?!!

    • Because his wife was whisked away and he was left with the easier thing to try and turn on this Christmas?

    • I can guess why he looks so happy… Don’t the letters P & H mean anything to yer ;)

  8. I thought the tornado man was Bill Gates at a glance.

  9. Need for speed movie, because they weren’t allowed to call it Fast and Furious.

  10. Updated Spelunky yesterday and had a go at the daily challenge.
Only got to 3-3 and lost the reviving cross thingy from the black market, which took way too many bombs to get to anyways and there weren’t bombs there to resupply.
Came in #34 or something like that because I ghosted a vault so I was happy with it.

    • Even though I recognise all the words in that post, it meant absolutely nothing to me!
