In a move that will surprise no one who read yesterday’s News Snatch, indie VR hit Loading Human has been announced for PlayStation 4’s Project Morpheus.
The game is being completely revamped from the orginal proof-of-concept and has moved from Unity to Unreal Engine 4. The title is described as “‘The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ meets ‘Monkey Island’ in virtual reality” and features cyber snogging. Steady on!
During the game you will travel into Prometheus’s mind, randomly reliving fragments of his memories in a non-linear way (think of Quantum Leap: you will “zap” from one memory to another).
The action will start at the North Pole, in your father’s base, where you’ll have to train in order to complete your mission: retrieve the quintessence – a dark-energy source found in the Eagle Nebula (M16) – and bring it back to your father, who needs it in order to survive.
But during the training period you’ll meet Alice, a woman you’ll fall in love with… and leaving for the mission will be harder than ever: your father won’t accept it…
The game is one of those weird limbo-esques titles that has been announced for Project Morpheus but still has a $30,000 Kickstarter for the PC version, more details of which you can find here.
