Nintendo have finally made a sensible statement about the lack of same sex relationships in Tomodachi Life.
You may recall they were insistent that they “never intended to make any form of social commentary”, but by leaving out gay relationships they were doing just that.
A social media campaign began using the #MiiQuality hashtag and Nintendo have listened to the fans and released the following statement.
We apologize for disappointing many people by failing to include same-sex relationships in Tomodachi Life. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to change this game’s design, and such a significant development change can’t be accomplished with a post-ship patch. At Nintendo, dedication has always meant going beyond the games to promote a sense of community, and to share a spirit of fun and joy.
We are committed to advancing our longtime company values of fun and entertainment for everyone. We pledge that if we create a next installment in the Tomodachi series, we will strive to design a game-play experience from the ground up that is more inclusive, and better represents all players.

this is a much more reasonable response than that last one.
a valid technical reason why they couldn’t implement this kind of change is something people can accept, not some guff about not wanting to make any social commentary.
hopefully the game does well and they do make a sequel and they remember this moment

I sorry but this is not a valid reason, if they are so incompetent that they can’t make a trivial change to the games code, what are they doing making games? I think that people are forgetting that the year is 2014 not 1990.
a inferior race
You have to bear in mind the 3ds is a handheld, so you can’t go chucking huge patches.
