Samurai Warriors 4-II Coming West This October

Samurai Warriors 4-II is set to launch in Europe later this year, Tecmo Koei has announced. The game will release on October 2nd for PS3, PS4, and Vita, as well as on PC via Steam. As its strange numbering implies, Samurai Warriors 4-II isn’t a direct follow-up to last year’s sublime hack n’ slash sequel – instead it’s more of a revision.

Going back to the drawing board, franchise developer Omega Force has re-jigged the game’s narrative focus. Instead of centring on regions and factions, Samurai Warriors 4-II will offer a more character-focused approach. It will feature thirteen new scenarios orbiting fan favourites as well as the latest cast members introduced in Samurai Warriors 4.

This version also sports a new game mode dubbed “Endless Castle”. Here players must survive waves of enemy soldiers as they continue to develop their very own custom made hero.

4-II is yet another example of how Tecmo Koei has started to stretch its catalogue of titles post-launch. Alongside its regular Dynasty Warriors expansions, the publisher has spun out other revisions such as Toukiden Kiwami and Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.
