Battlefield Hardline’s First Expansion Plans A Crime Wave For June

We started hearing tiny little tidbits of information about Battlefield Hardline’s first expansion awhile back, but we never had any solid info about what was involved or when we could expect to see it. Until now. Over on the Battlelog, EA and Visceral took the time to drop a few new pieces of information about Criminal Activity, including its release date. Well, sort of.

For starters, the expansion includes four new maps, which has been the Battlefield standard in DLC for awhile now. It also includes three new weapons, new ammunition types, a new game mode called Bounty Hunter, a nailgun battle pickup and more. The complete list, along with an image they released as a part of the announcement, can be found just below.

  • Four fast-paced new maps – Backwoods, Code Blue, The Beat and Black Friday
  • Two new rides
  • Two new ammunition types for specific weapons
  • A new gadget
  • Three new weapons
  • A nailgun battlepickup
  • New Bounty Hunter game mode
  • Six new masks:  two animal masks, and four new police headgear options

Criminal Activity

So, about that release date. If you have EA Access, you’ll be able to play Criminal Activity sometime in June. If you don’t, then you’ll likely still get it in June, but we’re not entirely certain when in either case. When Hardline launched, EA Access members got to play just a few days early, so we’re assuming Criminal Activity will be treated the same way and the early access window will be relatively short. But until we know for sure, don’t plan any vacation time just yet.
