Well, there’s a surprise. Omega Force, the acclaimed Japanese studio that has been pumping out Warriors games year after year, has announced that its next project won’t be part of the long-running hack and slash series.
A teaser site has gone live, counting down the days to Omega Force’s big reveal. The web page itself doesn’t give anything away as shown below. However, the developer seems eager to reaffirm that this won’t be yet another Warriors game.
The franchise currently consists of three ongoing series (Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi) with dozens of expansions and spin-offs. Recently, Omega Force has tackled big licenses including Gundam, Fist of the North Star, One Piece, Dragon Quest, and The Legend of Zelda.
Over the years it has worked on other projects, however. Unique medieval combat sim, Bladestorm, made a return this year alongside the studio’s take on Monster Hunter, Toukiden Kiwami. The teaser site could be counting down to a sequel for either games yet, personally, we hope to see something new.
