Prison Architect Gets Final Release In October For Good Behaviour

After a three year internment in alpha testing and Steam Early Access, Introversion Software have finally decided that Prison Architect will finally be ready to be given a full release. Of course, you’ve been able to buy and play the game all this time, but it marks an important milestone in the game’s protracted and public development process.

This game has been a major success for a team that was one of the frontrunners of the current indie games scene, having founded their company in 2001 and created the cult classic hacking game Uplink. They fell on hard times towards the end of last decade, but have been buoyed by Prison Architect which has gone on to sell over one million copies by January 2015.

Though the focus will likely now turn to creating a final build for release, this week also sees the latest in a long line of updates to the game, with Alpha 35 being released to owners.
