It’s Official, Kojima’s Next Game Will Be PS4 Exclusive

Hideo Kojima’s newly formed Kojima Productions studio has signed a deal with Sony so that their first game will be console exclusive to PlayStation 4.

“I will be taking on a new challenge by establishing my own independent studio, and I am thrilled to be able to embark on this journey with PlayStation, who I have continued to work with all these past years,” said Hideo. “I cannot wait to deliver, with PlayStation, a game that will become a compelling franchise.”

Obviously the game will not be another Metal Gear Solid, but that’s probably for best and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with. Oh, and can someone give Del Toro a call please?

  1. It’s not really a surprise for me due to Kojima more or less being familiar with the Playstation Brand and having a strong relationship with Sony or at least, via Konami, he had a strong relationship with them. Sony knows what he is capable of and probably just go, “Do whatever you want, we’ll take the risk.” within reason. It will be a test of Kojima’s skills to see what he is truely capable off or if MGS was the bulk of his skill. Hopefully, he’ll be able to recharge his batteries and bring us a wonderful game. I doubt he will be petty towards Konami by hiding insults or things alluding to his treatment at Konami as he doesn’t seem the type to do that. Unlike Konami, who fucking banned him from collecting awards and being at an awards show.

But i do wonder if he can break free of the standards set by MGS and if he can get away from being known as the bloke who did MGS into Kojima, the bloke who did a lot of things. And told Uwe Boll to **** off when an interviewer asked if he would allow him to touch MGS.

  2. I wonder what Kojima will be like without his franchises. It’ll be interesting to see what his first game is. I’m guessing it’ll be that silent hills game we never got with a VR twist.

I’m gutted that it won’t be MGS6 though.

  3. it’ll be interesting to see what he comes up with.
