Nintendo’s forays into mobile platforms are gradually coming to fruition, and the social app Miitomo is set to be the first out of the door in March. It uses your Mii character as a go-between, visiting other people and asking them all sorts of questions, before sharing what they found out. You can also play dress up with costumes and create Miifotos, which insert your Mii into the real world.
Preregistering for Miitomo – head over to miitomo.com – also ties into Nintendo’s new unifying Nintendo Account system and its new My Nintendo rewards scheme, with a little bonus for anyone who signs up between now and the app’s launch. You can sign in with an existing Nintendo Network ID from a Wii U or 3DS, or create a new account using Facebook, Google+, Twitter or old fashioned emails.
