It’s four weeks at the top of the UK charts for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as it continues to reign over the summer months. It seems certain of matching and beating the previous record stay in 1st for a Lego game, which was Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes sticking it out for 5 weeks in 2012.
Of course, a big part of that is the absolute lack of any new titles breaking into the top 40 – in fact, I can’t think of any new retail releases for last week, but there’s little stories within how the existing games have shifted up and down. Last week’s charts saw the Xbox One bundles propel Zoo Tycoon and Kinect Sports: Rivals up into the charts, as well as Guitar Hero Live, but they’ve all disappeared from the top 40 once more.
This week’s mini revival is Pokémon, with Pokémon Go’s popularity spurring Pokémon Y up to 29th, Alpha Sapphire to 24th and Omega Ruby up to 17th. Not Pokémon X, though. That one’s clearly totally rubbish.
