Those on PC have already been able to explore the demo for Variable State’s upcoming game, which was released a couple weeks back, but console gamers have been left a little in the dark. A new cinematic trailer shows off snippets of how the game will look and feel to play, as you take on the role of a young FBI agent investigating a career defining case.
It’s a story and game that leans heavily TV, with story parallels to Twin Peaks and The X-Files, but it does so without a single word of dialogue. Variable State are also borrowing the language of cinema, weaving in things like jump cuts, match cuts, dissolves and montages. It’s a fascinating looking game, coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 22nd.
