The Outsiders is a new studio comprised of industry veterans that are working on a title going by the code name Project Wight. Not much detail has been given about the game in the past but today the first real glimpse of it was shown in a brief gameplay walkthrough. Project Wight is set in an alternate Viking timeline where intelligent creatures exist in the same world as humans. In this world these intelligent monsters are hunted by humans, with the aim being to wipe them out.
While many games would have you play as a hunter in Project Wight you take on the role of the creatures as they look to survive against the slaying. The trailer below shows two different points of a creature’s life, these being a child and then an adolescent. The child cannot fight humans and must flee from them instead, while the adolescent can defend itself.
Neither release date or platforms have yet been confirmed for Project Wight, but it appears to be an interesting premise at least.
