Conan Exiles Update Adds Breath Of The Wild-Like Climbing Mechanics

Barbarians get dexterity boost.

It’s been a while since we checked in with Conan Exiles – the multiplayer sandbox survival game with full frontal nudity and necklaces made out of human dangly bits. Developed by Funcom, makers of the woefully underrated The Secret World, Exiles has introduced a new traversal system in a new update.

Patch 28 will allow adventurers to scale any surface in-game, creating new ways to explore and get around. Much like Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, climbing will be limited based on how much stamina a player has. The more strenuous the climb, the more it will bite into your reserves.

It will have a noticeable impact on how player vs. player combat pans out, at least when it comes to defending fortresses. Instead of being funnelled through gates and passages, players can attempt to climb over walls. In response, defenders can now build spiked walls, pouring molten pitch on those attempting to breach their base.
