Metal Gear Survive is actually a pretty good game, if you believe our review, but it’s been left in something of a no man’s land on release. A mixture of apathy toward the survival genre and resentment to Konami for their split with Hideo Kojima and how they’re spinning off from the Metal Gear Solid series has surely had a big part to play in this.
That’s meant that FIFA 18 sticks it out at the top of the charts, followed by GTAV, COD:WWII, Monster Hunter: World and UFC 3. Metal Gear Survive can only muster sixth place, despite being a budget £25 release – it was 11th in terms of revenue. Chances are it did a bit better digitally, but we won’t know digital sales figures for quite some time.
Meanwhile, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet was the only other new entry, all the way down in thirty-seventh, while the previous big new release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance has slipped from second on the charts down to twelfth, and Bayonetta 2 tumbled from fifth to nineteenth.
