For Honor has really grown and matured since its release early last year, and Ubisoft’s commitment to the game has continued long into its second year. Season Six kicks off on 17th May for all platforms, coming as a free update and bringing a new map, some Hero reworks and the Visual Collection feature.
However, Season Six does feel rather light on content. There’s a new map, the Beachhead, and it’s available in all game modes except for Tribute, featuring a grand, picturesque fortress that’s a focal point for the map, but beyond that there’s no new heroes. Instead, they’re looking to continue to rebalance the game, with the Orochi and Peacekeeper heroes receiving major gameplay changes. The thing is that Season Five also had no new heroes and rebalanced more of the existing ones.
Meanwhile the Visual Collection is a quality of life improvement, letting you track all the cosmetics you’ve earned and apply them to your gear through a new menu. You won’t need to hoard gear anymore.
Thankfully Ubisoft have bigger plans for the future, as Creative Director Roman Campos-Oriola explained, “We’re happy to see players react positively to our recent For Honor updates, which included the launch of dedicated servers and extensive Hero balancing changes, as well as new onboarding features. In addition to improving the core experience, we are also working on new content, including all-new Heroes; tune in during E3 2018 to learn more!”
This weekend is free weekend time for For Honor, which you can play right now until 6th May.
