No that’s not a typo, I haven’t added a few zeroes by mistake, Epic really are giving away $100 million in prize money when they launch the Fortnite E-Sports tournament.
“In the 2018 – 2019 season, Epic Games will provide $100,000,000 to fund prize pools for Fortnite competitions,” state Epic. “We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different – we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game.”
The money completely eclipses the cash given away by other e-sports, DOTA 2 dished out $38 million in prize money last year. The question is, will X-Factor and I’m A Celebrity popstress Stacey Solomon be entering the competition?
