Microsoft have promised to roll out keyboard and mouse support to developers and “select Xbox Insiders” within weeks, with Warframe becoming one of the first games to support the control method.
“It’s important to note that mouse and keyboard support for games is added on a title-by-title basis, entirely at developers’ discretion,” note Microsoft. “For all other titles, nothing changes. Mouse and keyboard input is not enabled by default for games.”
Most wired and wireless devices should work but if you want to go official, Microsoft have teamed up with Razer “to bring you the best possible mouse and keyboard experience for this new functionality.”
Further details on the partnership and details of games that will support keyboard and mice will be revealed during the November 10th edition of Inside Xbox.
Meanwhile it’s been revealed that Steam users are rather fond of game pads. A hardware survey by Valve found that nearly 60 million controllers have been connected to 30 million registered Steam accounts, and of them nearly 40 million Xbox controllers have been connected, representing 64% of all controllers.
