Report: The next Assassin’s Creed will be set in the Viking age

An Easter Egg image in The Division 2 seems to suggest the next Assassin’s Creed game will be taking a Norse twist as it shows a Viking holding the Apple of Eden, the McGuffin of the Assassin’s Creed universe.

Ubisoft have a history of teasing games within games, Pioneer was found in Watch Dogs 2 and the location for Watch Dogs 3 was also revealed in the same game with map coordinates pointing to Brixton in South London. Kotaku have stepped forward to say they have heard from two sources that the next Creed game will indeed feature Vikings and it’s going to skip a 2019 release, aiming to launch with the new consoles which are expected to arrive sometime in 2020.

A piece of concept are by a Ubisoft artist has also been discovered, showing Vikings and boats. This may not be related to what is currently code named Assassin’s Creed Kingdom, but who knows.
