Capcom has confirmed that it’ll be taking Switch players back to the very beginning of Dante and co’s adventure as the original Devil May Cry will be released on Nintendo’s console this summer. There’s basically no information on whether this will be a direct port of the original version of the game or the HD remaster, how much it will cost, and if the other games of the series will make their way over. That may likely depend on how well Devil May Cry sells.

It does seem like a strange announcement considering there have already been remastered trilogy collections available on platforms such as the PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360, so why that collection isn’t getting ported over at least yet is a tad strange. The game may entice complete newcomers to the series so they have a jumping point but how it appeals to series fans I don’t know. I guess the answer will lie in the number of units sold.
