Latest Xbox Game Pass update adds Metal Gear Solid V to the service

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to access a bunch of new games with six titles coming over the next week. Those games are Night Call, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, The Banner Saga 3, Resident Evil 4, Killer Instinct DE, and For The King. As stated they will all be added on different days, and you can see which dates each of the games is coming below.

  • Night Call, 17/07
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, 18/07
  • The Banner Saga 3, 18/07
  • Resident Evil 4, 25/07
  • Killer Instinct DE, 25/07
  • For The King, 25/07

You’ve got a variety of games there. Night Call was confirmed for the service last month, and in it players take on the role of a Parisian taxi driver who has been made a suspect for murder so must prove his innocence by talking to his passengers and find the real killer amongst them. Moving on and everyone knows what Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is, even if the plots of the series are all kinds of mad. In our review it was written:

“The Phantom Pain makes a major departure from the gameplay of the earlier home console games, but it’s brilliant for it. The story loses its momentum half-way through and the boss fights can fall flat, but those are minor points compared to the outstanding open world that has been created for you to play in and the freedom to do so.”

We scored it a 9/10, The Banner Saga 3 concludes an epic Norse inspired tale and you really should play the first two before diving into the closing chapter otherwise a lot of the plot won’t make sense. Miguel wrote in the review.:

“The Banner Saga 3 closes the book on an incredible saga of turn-based action and dark, haunting storytelling. It’s hard to make player choices and branching narratives successfully payoff over the course of three games, but Stoic Studios have done just that. It’s a shame that they never tried to revamp or update the sluggish combat speed along the way, but that’s a small price to pay for a once in a lifetime narrative experience like this.”

Resident Evil 4 is a classic game that all horror fans should be playing, but if you’re into fighting or strategy Killer Instinct and For The King have got you covered.
