Free content for Monster Hunter: World players as game sells over 13m copies

Monster Hunter: World continues to cement itself as a landmark success with sales now topping 13 million worldwide. With it being Capcom’s best selling game of all time (followed by Resident Evil 5’s sales of 7.4 million and Resident Evil 6’s 7.2 million) it’s no wonder that the Japanese publisher plans to follow it up this year with the upcoming Iceborne expansion.

To celebrate yet another sales milestone for this latest entry in the series, Capcom is giving away some goodies to all Monster Hunter: World players. Simply sign into the game between July 25th and August 29th to receive the following bundle of items as part of your daily login bonus. These include:

  • 1 x Attack Jewel
  • 13 x Appreciation Ticket
  • 13 x Silver Egg
  • 3 x Gold Wyverian Print
  • 3 x Heavy Armor Sphere

For those building towards a new weapon or armour set then these rare tier provisions will certainly help.

Since the series made its debut back in 2004 with Monster Hunter on the PlayStation 2, it has gone on to sell an estimated 54 million copies. Although it started life as a underrated action RPG for consoles (with a great online component), Monster Hunter’s arrival on PSP would ultimately turn the Capcom franchise into a global phenomenon.

Monster Hunter: World scored an almighty 10/10 in our review at launch, Dom stating: “Monster Hunter: World is the evolution the series has been waiting for. The giant creatures have never looked better, while the beautiful open world areas and the way Scoutflies assist your exploration have brought a newfound dynamism to every hunt. It remains brutally difficult and the unprepared may still be chewed up and spat back out, but this time it’ll categorically be your own fault rather than the game’s. Whether on your own, or in a group, now is the time to join the hunt.”
