Borderlands: Game of the Year edition will be free to play this weekend on PS4

2K Games has announced that the Borderlands party continues as Borderlands: Game of the Year edition will be available to play on PS4 this weekend at no charge. This trial period will start on 12:01 AM PDT/BST/JST, August 16 and finish at 11:59 PM PDT/BST/JST, August 18. The trial will give access to the entire Borderlands: Game of the Year content including all of the game’s add on packs including The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution. If you don’t own the game on PS4 it will be available at a discount during this same period too.

In addition members of the Vault Insider Program will be able to accrue some bonus points if they play Borderlands: Game of the Year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Each day will net 1000 VIP Points with playing on Saturday or Sunday earning an additional 1000 points, which means a total of 4000 points. That amount of points will be enough to unlock a custom head or skin for characters in Borderlands 3. The points themselves will be added to accounts from August 21st.

Earlier today it was confirmed that one of the characters in Borderlands 3 which is a teddy bear called Balex will be voiced by none other than Ice T. Ice T has had previous roles in games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Gears of War 3. A new trailer was also released that can be viewed at the same link above.

Borderlands 3 will be released on 13th September from PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
