There’s another crossover happening in Monster Hunter World. Instead of The Witcher’s Geralt finding his way in the world through an errant portal trip it’s the turn of Horizon Zero Dawn’s protagonist Aloy to venture through the frozen wilds of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. As Aloy is a PlayStation exclusive character Xbox One and PC players won’t have access to her.

It’s unclear if there will be specific missions tailored to Aloy or if it is purely her character model that players can control through the game. Geralt had his own questline but there’s also been a crossover with Assassin’s Creed: Origins in which players could get Bayek’s armour. Having a platform exclusive questline would probably rub people the wrong way, so I’d personally be inclined to think it’s the latter.
Stefan recently got to check out Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and you can watch the video to find out six things you should know about it.
If you prefer the written word well Stefan had this to say:
While it might not present a fresh starting point for those looking to get their first taste of Monster Hunter, Iceborne will check a lot of boxes for a lot of others. With a big new landmass to explore, giving a frosty new twist to the game, and plenty of new and returning beasts to take on (and with a new Master Rank difficulty for the absolute high end players), there’s plenty to look forward to in this expansion.
You can read the full Monster Hunter World: Iceborne preview here. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will be available on September 6th for PS4 and Xbox One. However, PC players are going to have to wait until January 2020 to get the opportunity to explore the brand new landmass and monsters that will be added to the game.
