The critically acclaimed RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition has been announced and launched on Nintendo Switch, all in one go!
Divinity: Original Sin 2 has all the flexibility that you could hope for in its new mobile form. There’s the same freedom that can be found within the RPG gameplay itself, but just as on other platforms you’re able to take this journey with your friends, with up to four player online co-op spanning the game’s 100 hour narrative. You could play the entire game on Switch, but for PC players, this could be an ideal companion version of the game, with cross-save support with Steam letting you take an adventure with you on the go.
Larian are also dropping Gift Bag 2 for all platforms, which is free DLC for all players on all platforms. This includes a Crafter’s Kit of new recipes and items to craft, a sprint toggle feature, a tweak to let all players speak to animals without having to spend a talent point, a Magic Mirror in the Arena of Fort Joy that lets you re-spec before the the next act in the game, an increase in maximum action points to 8, and the ability to plant your own herb garden.
The original PC release has a whopping 93 rating on Metacritic, making it one of the best games of all time, but that was before Larian Studios returned to craft the Definitive Edition of the game, making sweeping changes as they brought it to consoles last year.
Reviewing it on PlayStation 4, Steve said, “Divinity Original Sin II: Definitive Edition is almost certainly the finest RPG experience on the current generation of consoles. […] For genre fans or those prepared to work through the complexity of the game’s opening, this is one of the best games you could hope to play. Not since the heady teenage days (and late nights) I spent playing Baldur’s Gate back in the mid 90s has an RPG world so captivated me.
