PlayStation exclusive, Iron Man VR, will be touching down early next year developer Camouflaj has confirmed. The announcement was made during this year’s New York Comic where the studio also revealed a slew of pre-order bonuses as well as a deluxe edition of the superhero sim.
Iron Man VR will officially launch on February 28th, available only on PlayStation VR. The Marvel game was revealed earlier this year during the first PlayStation “State of Play” broadcast.
For NYCC 2019, Camouflaj also released a brand new trailer, focusing on the VR title’s story as well as some of its key characters. It appears as though Iron Man will be going up against Ghost who some Marvel movie goers will remember from 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. It’s worth pointing out that the game isn’t tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in any way, however.
Expect an original storyline with fresh takes on familiar characters including Tony Stark himself S.H.I.E.L.D Director, Nick Fury, also making an appearance. Camouflaj promises that the game won’t just focus on what it feels like to don the Iron Man mantle; you’ll get to inhabit the character fully in what is described as a personal story with dashes of drama and comedy.
As expected, Iron Man VR will be available to buy physically and won’t cost as much as your typical new release. The standard edition will set you back £34.99 with a “Digital Deluxe” version being priced at £44.99.
Those who pre-order the game will unlock 4 “Custom Armor Decos” which basically alter the default costume’s colour pattern. You’ll also get a PlayStation 4 dynamic theme to boot.
Splash out on the deluxe edition and you’ll also net the following bonuses:
- Marvel’s Iron Man VR Game
- 4 Deluxe Edition Deco Armors (Golden Avenger, Black Centurion, Sun Stinger, Stealth Armor)
- 12 Research Points – Research Points are gained by analyzing combat data from Iron Man’s performance in the field. This research and analysis allows Friday to develop new technology (weapons and augments) for the Impulse Suit. Use these Research Points to unlock some weapons and augments early and customise to play style.
- Marvel’s Iron Man VR Digital Deluxe Soundtrack
Iron Man VR isn’t the only highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive booked for February 2020, The Last of Us Part II launching the week before.
