Sony has been restructuring its departments recently to move away from the regional setup it has had to a more unified global operation in the interactive entertainment department. That reshuffle has so far seen Herman Hulst become Head of Worldwide Studios and Shuhei Yoshida become the head of a new initiative working with independent developers. Today sees a new face at Sony as Veronica Rogers, formerly of Microsoft and Dell, has joined the company as PlayStation’s Senior Vice President of business operations.
What does that mean? Essentially, Veronica’s role will include leading the sales strategy for the PlayStation brand and the subscription services like PS Plus and PS Now. In a statement Veronica had the following to say:
“The PlayStation brand is one of the most beloved in the world and I am excited to join a company that has such a passionate community, legendary history, and an amazing leadership team. My experience leading global sales organizations will help excel the PlayStation business and deliver the best gaming experiences to fans across the world.”
As Sony continues to restructure we’ll no doubt see more shuffling and hiring at the senior levels of the company as we move towards the release of the PS5.
