The earworm of the year has finally arrived on Spotify and also as a early release track from the full album of music from Netflix’ The Witcher. Prepare to drive yourself, and indeed other, totally insane with the catchy bop from the hit show.
A word of caution, iTunes is flooded with cover versions, searching for Toss A Coin To Your Witcher will not serve you the original, instead you must search for the writers Giona Ostinelli & Sonya Belousova.
Earlier this month Netflix released an interactive map that clears up a few things regarding The Witcher series. The show, starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, is based predominantly on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski though those who have played the games will be familiar with many of the settings and characters. However, even with that knowledge it can take a bit of time to get into The Witcher due to the amount of time jumps it has, the references to different characters, factions, nations, and the lore of the land.
Due to the utter convolution of events and the episodes not being in chronological order Netflix has released an interactive timeline that shows which order the episodes run in timeline wise, as well as showing events that have happened prior and in tandem to the timeline of the show. There is a lot of lore to digest but the timeline gives a really good background to everything.
You can view The Witcher interactive timeline here.
You can also read our feature Triss’ hair and other things that annoyed me about Netflix’s The Witcher in which Nic lists his ssues with the series but comcludes “It’s such a love letter that I’m willing to overlook the issue with the swords and medallions and give The Witcher a solid recommendation. Hell, I’d go so far as to say it’s better than Game of Thrones.”
